Nautilus Coils

So a little back story; I started using the Aspire Nautilus Mini setup with a set of CF VV+ batteries and a iTaste MVP.
I loved the setup, but after a few months of owning it I bought a pack of replacement coils from a local shop. After changing one out and filling the tank it vaped fine for about 15 minutes and started flooding. I corrected the issue (or so I thought) and headed to bed. I awoke the next morning to see an empty tank and a puddle of juice on my table. I checked the entire tank for cracks, leaks and bad seals to which there were none. Assuming I either had a bad coil or screwed something up, I replaced the coil, refilled and headed to work. By the time I reached work the same problem persisted. Come to find out my juice was leaking out through air inlet of the deck.
So me, giving my shop the benefit of the doubt assumed I somehow bought the wrong coils. I explained my problem to them and they promptly gave me a refund.
I then ordered some more coils online with the exact same results in 3 different tanks and 3 different juices. I then realized the wick port sizes in the coils were larger than before.
So my question(s) are this; is the enlargement intentional or manufacturer defect?
I usually use a 50/50 juice, is it possible that an increase of VG would resolve the issue?
I posted all this on the Aspire forums and received the copy and paste response of "check for leaks, cracks, bad seals and authenticity of the product" blah blah blah.

I was hoping someone here may have the answer I have yet to find anywhere else. I also apologize for the long post, I wanted to get across the problem and my attempted solutions as adequately as possible. I would hate to have to retire such a good setup.
