Nautilus Rubbery Taste

So, both my girlfriend and I have a nautilus tank. She uses hers on an MVP and an iStick. I used mine on a vamo primarily.

The difference is, that BVCs on mine last about two weeks, but only about 5 days on hers. The juice we use is about 70% VG. At first I thought that was the cause, but it doesn't happen to me and I use the same juice. The best way to describe the taste is burnt rubber. It's different than when a coil goes bad normally. Not a dry hit type taste.

We also swapped tanks, and it still only happens to her, so it's not that one tank is faulty.

She vapes at about 9W, I vape higher, around 11W.

I think that's all the relevant info, anybody have any idea why that happens to her and not me?

I noticed that with the Non Nautilus new BVC coils. After a few days you get that taste...if I adjust the Wattage downward it subsides a little...but then I get more gurguling. Can't say I am 100 percent sold on thos BVCs...but I just moved to Kanger Megas so I wont be using them anyway.

BVCs have a very hit and miss system. sometimes you get BVCs that work fine for weeks and sometimes it takes just a single day and its ruined.

hence why I decided to go to a rebuildable tank since the cost price of the BVCs were eating up my wallet.

Mmmm maybe you could check out the insulator of the BVC. I have heard of them getting slightly burned and leaving a plasticy flavor. it might be that the coil is getting too hot all the time with the thick juice and it messed up the insulator.

The thing is, we share from the same pack of coils, and use the same juice, but I never experience it in my device. So the issue is either her device, or her. I imagine if there were issues with the Nautilus on an MVP or istick, more people would be experiencing the same issue. I can't imagine what she could be doing differently that would imply that she was the cause.

Hit or miss is one thing, but this is all miss, 6 or 7 straight coils.

That's the only thing I can think of, but we seem to inhale the same, mouth to lung on the Nautilus. If there is a difference in our inhaling, it has to be minimal.

How much does she vape compared to you? Just a shot in the dark here.

She vapes about a little more out of the nautilus than I do, but less then an entire tank each day

All things being more or less equal... that's odd.

Have you tried measuring the voltage output of your battery units set on the same setting with a good multimeter?

The electronics in regulated mods aren't exactly "high end" so there could be a variability from one to another set at the same output. A quarter to a half a volt could be enough to cross that boundary from tasting good to terrible.

I'm would like to narrow this down too. As the same thing happens to me. My coils start tasting like that after about 4-5 days and lose vaper. I'm thinking it's the draw. I know you said you both do mouth to lung but I think she is doing a harder suction then you are doing. (That sounds so bad but I'm not sure how else to word it)

I was just thinking of something else it may be. Do you both vape with the same amount of air flow?

She uses the second smallest airhole, I use the next one bigger. I imagine this had some impact, but ten days?

Will she uses the same air hole I do. So maybe it does have something to do with it. I'm gonna try and use the next one up and see if it helps. It's gonna be tough cause I like the tighter draw. On the ten days who knows it could. With the coils being new it's a vape and learn.

Also vaping on an MVP, @ 7w with Virgin Vapor (100% VG),
The coil that came with my mini, almost killed me,
I swear, it was like inhaling a melted tire, strait out of a riot, this is after a few hours usage!

I installed the 2nd one, no issues for a good few days,
Not sure where I am going with this now though...

Oh yeah, I ordered a few RDA's!
Hopefully I will be vaping a 1.? ohm class act this week,
So I will be in control of my dry tire hits and wicks!

I think I will keep the Nauty, but only for outings,
Unless I get another tire hit on a new coil,
In which case the 10kilo sledge hammer will come out and I shall express myself.
