I think they actually said "some samples" had harmful chemicals. Sounds like contamination in some batches maybe.

I heard it too... Actually all in all it was a better report than I expected it to be...WTG NBC... I am not sure if they really helped the cause, but I dont think they hurt us a bunch either... and that is a step in the right direction!!!

Steve, you had the great misfortune of having your e-cig piece overwhelmed by breaking news from the FDA about the dangers of e-cigs, etc. Still, this had better balance than if you HADN'T been involved. Thanks for your efforts.

I dont think it was a coincidence that this got done at the same time as the FDA statement... Just saying.

But I would also like to say great job you presented yourself very professionally and that was a great vapor cloud lol.

TB, thank you for your words, I value them very much. I too, was hoping for a more positive peice, but, all in all, I feel it went fairly well.

Really what cancer causing chemicals? Isn't it one of the top things on how the E-Cig is marketed.

E-juice has some nit..... in the nicotine. What they didn't say is that they find them in patches, etc, as well. You can purify nicotine, just not 100%

The FDA also claims that out of 18 liquid samples, one was shown to have Diethylene glycol (antifreeze stuff) in it.

Oh and BTW, the lozenges are coming out with 2 new flavors, I think cherry and cinnamon (?) God, that's all we need is more child flavors

You got into the business for the right reason. Same as me. I know you had a news story and all, and congrats, that's freaking awesome. Can you link it? But I'm pretty sure that advertising your company in the News sections is against forum rules. Asking for a ban, man. From what I understand it's fine in signatures, but should probably delete the direct link in the post (unless it's to the news story which I really want to see). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Diethylene glycol (DEG) is an organic compound described by the structural formula HO-CH2-CH2-O-CH2-CH2-OH. It is a clear, hygroscopic, odorless liquid. It is miscible with water and polar organic solvents such as alcohols and ethers.

Diethylene glycol should not be confused with the related compound, ethylene glycol, which is the most common glycol used in coolants.

So did they find diethylene or ethylene?

They say Diethylene.
