I am sending my Dad my old Joye 510 and some blank cartomizers. He seems a little reluctant to replace his 4+ decade cig habit, so I want to make sure he has a good experience. Personally, I do not like menthol flavors, so I haven't tried many.

Dad seems to be concerned that it will be hard to replace his Benson & Hedges Menthol Light 100s with a decent menthol vape, so if anyone has any suggestions on GREAT menthol juices, I would be happy to hear about it. I'm ready to order one or two for him right away so he can begin the experience. So to you hardcore mentholites, please let me know what your faves are, why (if you don't mind), and where I can get them. Thanks so much!

After trying numerous juice vendors, I have found a clear & undeniable winner: Electronic Cigarette by Halo. Personally, the only menthol flavor of theirs that I've tried is Truepure, but it's my 2nd most favorite e-juice after their Smooth 8. Truepure to me tastes like REAL menthol crystals with a note of vanilla at the end. I've heard great things about their Menthol Ice & mixed reviews of their Coolmist, but of all the menthols I've tried these will be the closest you can hope to find to an analog menthol. That being said, so you don't come back saying how wrong I was about it tasting like 'the real thing', no e-juice ever will! But Halo is the closest you'll find! & they now have $4.99 5ml sample bottles:evil:

I guess in the end it really depends on if he actually enjoys the burnt tobacco flavor along with his menthol, or, like what I found out about myself, was that I was always searching for the menthol flavor, the coolness, not the tobacco flavor at all.

That said, he may like a variety of tobacco flavors with a separate bottle of menthol to add to his juice to adjust to his preference. Best knowledge is plain menthol just is super strong, and a few drops goes an insanely long way.

I actually don't dig any tobacco flavors as all (*yuk*) but I will drop a few drops into my fruit blends and I am a happy kitty.

Menthol smooths out that "throat hit", it takes all the sharp edges off, and makes it easier to inhale the toxic smoke. As your dad gets his sense of taste back (as well as his lungs beginning to heal!) it may turn out he has no need or even a desire for the menthol at all!

Again, that said....remember to educate him on the infinite variety of flavors that are available in the vaping world as opposed to the smoking world. He can have his vape and smoke it too, if he wants! He can have waffle vape for breakfast, a fruity vape for lunch, some coffee or chai tea for after dinner, some atomic cinnacide for his evenings ;) LOL, the world is about to become his oyster.

Oooooh, oyster flavor....hmmmm, let's pass on that particular vaping experience, shall we? :D

Goodprophets.com has great juice, their VG menthol is really clean and crisp. Others have said the PG menthol is even better. Personally, I haven't found a tobacco/menthol that suits me. So I make my own. You can buy menthol drops or make menthol drops by mixing menthol crystals w/ PG or VG. You can then use these drops to flavor any tobacco flavor. My favorite ATM, is goodprophets PG Keemer R3 24mg, menthol drops(to taste), and 33mg VG to up the nic content. It is very easy.

I've tried 9 or 10 different menthols. Vapornine, Vapor Bomb, Good Prophets, Backwoods Brew, Dekang, and a couple others in pre-filled carts The Vapor Bomb Virginia Menthol is analogish. The one I am in love with, and the one that got me off of analogs for good, is Pure Smoker's Tonic Silver Leaf Menthol. It does not taste like a cig, but it is delicious. Still need to try halo. though.

Ditto this post. I smoke(d) B&H Deluxe Ultra Light menthols and eventually settled on Halo's Truepure. At least for me, I found it refreshing enough to use as a go-to menthol perhaps given that it's not harsh and has vanilla on the exhale. It's a little sweeter than Coolmist and Menthol Ice and it surprised me to pick it... Am beginning to think that this proprietary mix may have a tiny bit of peppermint mixed in with the menthol as it doesn't have any "medicine menthol" taste to it.

I do have some Dekang menthol and some FUSA Nuport to try eventually, just to compare. I assumed that I would require something as close to my analogs as possible but the reality did not turn out the way I figured! :) I have even been helping my BIL in using ecigs and he (a Kool Lights smoker) preferred the Truepure (I had given him a cart of each of Halo's menthols and that is what he said he liked the best).

I did see Halo's email newsletter today not only announcing the sample sizes but also announcing a major price drop in their 30 ml size, so definitely something to look at!

This is all great info guys, thanks. Not being a menthol person myself, it is pretty clear to see that menthol has its own subrealm within the realm of e-cigs. I can talk pretty intelligently about the sweeter flavors (my pref), but not menthol flavors at all. I'm glad once again to have a resource like this to find out about worlds of which I know nothing!

I haven't decided yet what to try, I'm still hoping for more responses. So far I'm leaning towards the Halo, so we'll see.

I just ordered some Vapro Renu Menthol juice that I should get this Friday. I read a few poeple on here that really like their juice. I will be posting a full review after I have used some of it. I love menthols, I only smoke them, I am hoping that this stuff is good, the prefilled cartomizers I got were ok, but did not have that taste I was hoping for.

I think Backwoods Brew Menthol Tobacco tastes the most like an analog of the Menthol flavors I've tried. That being said, I was a big Menthol cigarette smoker for years before I quit smoking, and find now that I prefer Tobacco only flavors in my vapes. You may consider throwing in something non-menthol flavored just in case this is the case for your Dad as well. Also, are you sure cartomizers are the way to go for your dad? It seems like most people get away from them not long after they start vaping.

To break him in easily, I thought cartos would be good. They are so easy to use and you don't have to mess with them much throughout the day. I'm pretty exclusively a dripper, but I tend to use cartos sometimes when I'm out and about, so I don't have to worry about having to mess with dripping (I really find standard 510 carts to be useless). Cartos are certainly easier in the car (stickshift), or even on the motorcycle. I am sending along a couple of regular 510 atties/carts for him too so he can try his hand at those if he feels like it. He may get into dripping too, who knows.

Looks like I might be visiting my folks pretty soon too, so I will take along my assortment of juices (I prefer Ms. T's stuff, mainly sweeter, fruitier flavors) for him to try. I don't think those will be his bag, but it will show him some of the variety, and I plan to mention that he can add menthol to pretty much anything he likes.

I really like Backwoods brew 555 with medium menthol and before that I liked Rocky Mountain Vapor 555 with Cool Rush from Liquid Xpress. I smoked menthols for 30 years

I've mixed BWB Menthol Medium with BWB RY4 and also found it a nice mix. The backwoods menthol has an analog flavor on its own though IMO.
