OK, so far I have cut my reg smoking in half within 5 days. This is the problem I am having:

My first e-cig was a Gamucci menthol which I picked up at my corner gas station. Just the 1 use (1 day) item. It was like chewing on wrigley spearmint gum (great menthol flavor and good throat hit) but absolutely little or no vapor. It was an auto with button. OK, so i didnt want to spend the $$ to buy that brand in the rechargeable kit. I went to a local tabaco shop and they had another brand (NicStick). It was only 24.95 with 3 carts and the usb rechargeable.

The NikStick is a manual (no button). I picked up some menthol and reg tabaco flavor carts. Menthol didnt even come close to the gamucci but alot more vapor. The problem I am having is with the new one, I am getting the vapor (ok compared to some vids ive watched) but the only way to get good vapor and a descent throat hit is to inhale direct without bringing into my mouth first.

I dont smoke this way, so it is difficult to totally cut the smokes. Ive already spent about $100 and really want to make the switch 100% but I cant go trying every brand and model. I have read and researched but really cant narrow it down. Will the 510 do both? Still a bit confused on how or what to buy extra for it to get what I want. I have read so much on bigger batteries for the 510 but dont want to buy the wrong stuff and it not work with it.

So if you have experienced what I have so far with 2 different e-cigs, what was the solution for you? Thanks again and I look forward to joining the ecig community

Hi Betterbait, welcome to ECF!

Many of us started with models that didn't work that well. I would read this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...st-electronic-cigarette-first-time-vaper.html

I'm on my third model. It's a 510 eGo and I love it. Many people also really like the kr808. I think either model is a really good place to start. Let us know if you have more questions! We're all rooting for you!

Welcome to the club....and ECF.

I've found PV's are like boats, you always want a bigger/better one. I've had one, my first one, that just didn't cut it for me at all. Moved "up" to a DSE901 and was great for awhile but small batt didn't give me the vape life I wanted. Move "up" to 801 JStick and that was really great and still is but again....batt not big enough (see a pattern forming here :D)

I'm not at an 801 Bartleby and Protege' and that's doing really really great...but... I've not found my eye drawn to the eGo and I recently tried some 510 Mega Cartos that have me thinking.

I know the $$$ is important but if you try and look at it from your analog days, it might not look like all that much as these devices do last and for me, I've felt I've at least broken even on the purchase price on all expect my first.

Atty type/size seems to be a big factor in overall like and affect and with the batt/atty adapters, you can get a nice size model and try different type attys for a pretty cheap price.

The eGo is a nice style and has a good size batt. The 510 is liked by a LOT of people and with a few adapaters, you can try a 901 for warmer vapor, 801 for volume vapor and even cartos for no topoff convenience.

Bottom line is don't give up, search for some cheaper alternatives until you find THE one and then invest some coin in a nice version of your choice. Then, a few months, maybe a year later....you'll be thinking again about that next boat :)

Hello and welcome to the forum.

First of all let me point out that it is the "automatic" that has no button and the "manual" that does have a button.

I would have to agree that you might be happy with an Ego. It is a nice vape, 510's burn the hottest and if you get an e-liquid that is an 80% PG and 20% VG mix, you will have no problem with tons of vapor.

I figured that after I posted. Well its probably between the 510 and the ego for my next try. I found a great spot to purchase and was wondering if it looked good (cignot)510 no box for $35. I hear what your saying about always wanting a bigger better model. Like I said, I have already cut my smoking in half in a short few days but want to cut it completely. Like anything else out there, the more you research the more confusing until you find that 1 good item

thanks

Remember the EGO is a 510 capable device. I would suggest you spring for the EGO as the 510 battery only holds a charge for about 2.5 hours at moderate-high vaping. You will find that a week from now your fighting to keep ahead on charged batts.

The EGO which uses the 510 atomizers or cartotomizers has a much much longer battery life and if paired with the new huge cartotomizers recently released for the EGO you can probably get away with nearly a full days vaping on one carto one battery. It's about 30 dollars more (check around this forum for deals) but in the end you save money on batts because they do not need to charge as often so they wont degrade as fast.

I am currently in love with my Bartleby and 510 cartomizer. But if I did not have this item I would certainly buy an EGO.

Actually....I'd say after 9 months of vaping...buy the bigger battery. You won't regret it. My 510 kit batteries would last an hour if i was lucky. I ended up purchasing a vp2 (14500 batteries) that now lasts almost the whole day for me. Go with the bigger longer lasting batteries...you won't regret it.

man the decisions.

You might want to look at madvapes mega 51o kit but I just looked and they are currently out of stock. The mega kit has the larger longer lasting batteries but I don't know when they will be in stock again.

I think you will be happy with a 510 atomizer. I have tried the various types and always go back to a 510 for everyday vaping.

NOTE: I have not tried cartomizers yet. Many people swear by them.

Battery life can not be stressed enough. Having to scramble to keep the smaller ones charged can be a pain and rather frustrating. Buy the largest battery you can afford and start saving/researching for a mod. You will want one eventually. :)

I agree about the long battery life. I'm still learning and I am so glad I started out with the eGo! What with trying to figure out when and how to fill carts, the care and feeding of atties, etc., at least charging batteries was one less thing to worry about. I get ~12 hours off one charge.

I just now ordered an eGo kit from Domestic Vapor that has 2 ea. 900 mah batteries, atomizers, atomizer covers, drip tips, as well a USB adapter, 5 empty cartridges, and a free 50ml bottle of e-Liquid... price is $74.00.

So now I have battery power out the wahzoo plus a few backup supplies and I can vape til the cows come home. :vapor:

Big batteries all the way, if you want consistency that will overpower your cig addiction, resist the urge to buy another device that looks like a cigarette. I am all about huge batteries which last all day, and I don't care about the device's size or shape too much anymore. After reading so many opinions I think I could suggest the Ego as a good middle ground for size and performance. Just remember that a small device like that or a regular Ecig always has a proprietary battery with a much heftier price tag, and possibly a shorter life span than the big lithium ion batteries that the big-batt mods use. Once you get your hands on a nice big-batt mod, you will start saving money as standard Ecigs are raping peoples' wallets simply by using cheaply made, overpriced batteries. My personal favs are the Silver Bullet and the MadVapes Mini Vapestack. The Nuck Fistpack and the Buzz are good ideas too, they would give the options of many devices, most of us had to actually buy 5 or more devices before finding our own sweet spot, now you can find it in one mod.

Greetings BB!

Cannot go wrong w/ the eGo and Cignot. Before upgrading to the eGo, I was going through 6+ fully charged 510 batteries per day in constant rotation... when I forgot to put the dead one in the charger it was stress time! So just go for the eGo.

Another option is the Riva (eGo lookalike)... higher capacity battery, better button (lighted too), better looking imo, completely cross-compatible w/ eGo, and less expensive ($49.95 from VaporJunction for a 2-kit). My eGos are now back-ups for my Rivas.

Good luck and glad you could join us!!

Yeah, I haven't used a stock battery since March, except that time I went to a party and used a stock 510 I bought for demonstration purposes. I make mods so I'm either using an 18650 battery with a carto or two CR123 3V batteries and a HV901 atty (real nice vape there). I just ordered a Riva out of curiosity and to have a decent battery for social occasions where a big mod may be too conspicuous.
