sounds like you're looking for the holy grail of PVs. A small compact unit with forever battery life. Unfortunately, there really is no "perfect PV" any one PV versus another, there will be tradeoffs. A Joye 510 is compact, you can get the manual batteries that you want, but the battery life won't be what you're looking for. If you step up to a Joye ego, you get a lot more battery life, but its more like a medium sized cigar in size and shape, not compact. So really, i'm afraid to say there might not be a PV yet that does all the things you want it to do.

For what its worth, I got over the "it has to resemble a cigarette" frame of mind pretty quickly. For me it turned out that consistent vapor production and battery life were more important to me than cosmetics. So I quickly made the move to the joye ego. You still get the "hand-to-mouth" action and oral fixation and all that, but you also get the better batt life, better vapor production etc.

I also like the Ego for battery life and the size really isnt awkward at all, like holding a sharpie pen. If you really want to stay with the smaller pv though, a 510 with a couple batts and a PCC works well and is what I started with. The charging case and alternating batts meant I never ran out of power in a full day at work or away from the house. Not a big deal to change a batt after a few hours.

I got over having it be analog size quickly as well. And having a larger battery that lasts 3 days is nice. Also, I'm a fan of smaller companies with great customer service and fast shipping. Its one of the reasons I'm going to be giving BackWoods Brew a shot for juice (partly thanks to Phorbin). That being said I fully recommend buying hardware from Tony at ModernVapor. I started with his almost analog sized Sidesho (amazing atty), moved onto his slightly larger 902 which is another amazing atty (think 510 with vapor but not running as hot so less burnt taste and more flavor), and I'm now on his EGO like LUX. I went through about 2 batteries a day with the Sidesho and 902 and a LUX battery lasts me about 3 days. I'm sure a lot of people here have great experiences with many companies so I'm not saying I know best, but I'm loyal to good people with good products. Do you know if you're looking for an atomizer or a cartomizer? In MVs case, the 902 and LUX use 902 attomizers or cartomizers and also fit 510s. The Sidesho only has an atty.... at the moment.

Same thing here getting over the "it HAS to look like a cigarette." I tried Green Smoke, too, and IMHO it's an extremely overprice POS. If you're still within your 30 days I highly suggest sending it back and getting a refund. The next PV I bought was a Riva. It was extremely affordable, great vapor and taste and the battery life lasted me 6-8 hours. Considering that a kit comes with two batteries, that will last all day. No, it doesn't look anything like a cigarette, but I'm not smoking so why would I want something that looks like a cigarette? The only way you're going to get "all day" battery life is with a Riva, an eGo (I also own one of the 900mah and it lasts me all day long) or a mod.

Nope - last all day is not something size of a cigarette (or even size of a long slightly fat cigarette) can do

You can buy a fat battery unit like Ego, Riva or Elegant Easy and maybe have it last 6-8 hours. And carry a spare charged battery.

You can buy a smaller unit and try to use a PCC (portable charging case) all day to charge one battery while using the other. Or if you have a desk etc where you can plug in an AC charger you can charge batteries with their AC adapters. There are some car chargers and some people are successful charging off a computer's USB but some people have blown out USB ports doing that so i use an AC charger at work and a PCC on the go.

Started with the joye 510 and liked it the first few days! Then the need to charge a battery every 1 1/2 - 2 hours and then having 4 batteries be worn out in a month at $10-$12 a piece got me over it pretty quickly! Got the riva/ego and am getting about 8-10 hours on one and I may not be a chain vapor but am hitting it pretty often compared to my wife! It's also not really that much bigger and fits in my shirt pocket well!
Also keep in mind if it's cigarette shaped with a manual battery you wont usually hold it between your 2 fingers like you did a smoke anway because you have to press the button!
If you absolutely have to have a cig sized PV then order extra batteries with it because if your battery dies then the options are smoke a cigarette or wait it out!
Whatever you decide good luck to you!

Gonna chime in along with everyone else here and, yep - tell ya the same thing. So far in the world of vaping there hasn't been an e-cig that meets BOTH of your criteria - all-day battery AND "looks like a cig".

With that said, I use a 510 and get about 3-4 hrs of battery use before I have to switch batteries. I use a PCC (which has it's own battery that lasts all day on a single charge) and it recharges my pv batteries in about an hour - so I'm never without a fully charged battery. The 510 is about the size of an analog cigarette. I bought my 510 starter kit for about $45. The PCC was extra.

I have never tried an eGo or Riva (Riva is the same thing as eGo, just rebranded), but from everything I've read and seen in reviews, it is a fantastic device for all-day vaping. It is slightly larger (fatter) than an analog, but that's the trade-off. Bigger battery = longer use. I'm not sure about the pricing on the eGo, but I do know you can get a Riva starter kit for around $30.

So there you have it. You'll just have to decide what is most important to you - something that looks like a cigarette that has "short" battery use, or something that is a little fatter that you don't have to worry about batteries all day.

I've found this depends on how much you vape. I'm sitting here puffing on the same battery I pulled off the charger at 5:00 AM, and it's nearly 14 hours later. I drove to LA today (down the 405 because PCH is closed and so got stuck in traffic jams down and back) and always puff more when I'm driving long distances. My standard eGo battery is holding up fine.

a lot of great info guys thanks its gonna be the 510 or the ego i can't make up my mind wtf!!!!

I keep bouncing back and forth myself Kenny, I was a pack a day smoker myself, but most of that was at home after work, so I can probably manage just fine with smaller batteries, yet not having to worry about charging all the time is appealing. I may end up getting some of both. Since we are talking about 3 units that all use 510 parts, a lot of things are interchangeable, which is nice. Looks like a lot of people around here have several different types of units that they keep around for different needs. I guess if the idea of -possibly- going without for a couple of hours terrifies you, then pick a Riva or eGo.

short answer.........BOTH.

Money well spent and since the carts/cartos/atties are the same, you will immediately have a few spares no matter which unit you like better. I find there is actually a good time for each. Couple hours to dinner where I want to be inconspicuous....510. Long drive or day away from power....EGO.
