I have 8 LC14500 batteries for use in some 2xAA Box mods we got from MadVapes.

We love the mods, especially hubby. The problem is that out of the 8 batteries, all from Madvapes and two chargers from there also, we only have 3 that will hold a charge.

These were purchased as follows:
The 3 that still work - April 2010
Two more - May 26, 2010 - don't charge/work
Three more - June 14, 2010 - don't charge/work

I am not sure if the last five are just bad batteries, or if that's even possible to get 5 in 2 separate orders that will not take a charge.

When put on charger, the light goes green after a couple of hours, but the batteries will not power the box mods, whereas the other 3 batteries will, and quite well.

Any ideas? I thought maybe charger, but have two, ordered separately,

Just don't know enough about batteries to troubleshoot.

Have emailed Mark regarding this, but so far no answer all week, maybe he's out this week.

I love all the stuff I have gotten from Madvapes, and in no way do I want anyone to take this as a complaint against them, as they are great with great service.

I just dont' know what direction to go... I found another protected 3.6 volt battery locally at Batteries Plus, but it says 2100Mah, instead of 900Mah, worried that it could make a difference, plus that one is $38, so.....

any suggestions or hints would be appreciated.

by the way, if this matters, when these that are not working first arrived, they had a charge and were used, then recharged and that's when they started NOT working. But others are recharging fine on those chargers.

I've had problems on occasion with those exact batteries. I assume it has to do with the protection curcuit in them. They work just fine in some of my mods but not at all in others. Also, I've noticed won't work at all with Joye 510 attys but will fire up the SLB 510's all day.

I'd suggest you try the AW 14500 batteries. I haven't had any problems with those. Vapor Flow has them in stock and on sale.

Sounds like the charger isn't the issue but like 'stubear' said, I'd post on their forum if you already haven't.

Thanks guys, for all the replies so far...

I have emailed MadVapes, twice this week, onsite and through regular email, I know he will answer when he can.

These have NOT been dropped or anything, the 5 that are NOT working came in two different orders, so it wasn't even a USPS thing.

Have charged on two different chargers made for these, and the 3 batteries I have that work, work on both of our box mods, so it's not the mods, or at least I don't see how.

Just a thought here; I had a similar problem with some of my trustfires from another vendor, the problem I discovered was that the + terminal was not protruding out past the shrink rap far enough on some of the batteries.

Well, me who, it's seems that may be the problem.

On all five batteries that DO NOT work, the + end is shorter than on the 3 that DO WORK.

I am still waiting to hear back from vendor, but at least I have a clue of what might be the problem..

Now to figure out how to resolve it.

YEA ! ! !

Found the fix... used some aluminum foil, heavy duty, and made a little "spacer" with a sort of "tab" to hold on to while I inserted battery.

The "spacer" filled the gap and enabled the connection.

All is well now and all 8 batteries are working.

I can just put a couple of these little "spacers" in my stuff in case I lose or drop one. Hubby can use the 3 "good" batteries since his fingers are not as flexible as mine.

All fixed through the good people at ECF... I also contacted MadVapes and left a message, since they are always so good to resolve issues, and I did not what him to end up sending out new batts before he got my email.

Thanks to all who responded and helped me get issue resolved.

The problem is usually right here. The plastic retainers.
