I have been back to smoking cigarettes for the past 2 and a half years and want to get back into vaping.

I have not kept up with the current vaping technology so I need advice and recommendations. I want something that won't break the bank and has decent battery life, along with that I want a tank that's compatible with it. Thanks in advance

If you are looking for a versatile, durable, good average performer, an evic vtc mini might be worth looking at.
It takes any coil/wire type out there at the moment, goes up to 75w if you want and does not brake the bank as you say. 35$ approx without tank (don't buy the std. tank with it) and battery.
Tanks is really depending what your into. You want clouds or vapor or both, rebuildable or ready made coils (cheap or expensive ones)? Just look at the sites of kangertech and smok (smoktech) for example to see which fits your needs in regards to performance, size , liquid content etc. The subtanks, VCTs etc. are popular at the moment... but so are a others. Do check the prices on the ready made coils before buying a tank. They can go crazily high these days for a pack of them.

I would look at the Innokin Coolfire IV or vtc mini or ipv d2 for a mod depending on whether you want internal batteries or external.

Now if your wanting to run one of the new subohm clearomizers that needs high power, then look at the istick 100W, Sigelei 150W tc, ipv3 li, Sigelei Fuchai or Snow Wolf for a mod. These would be good mods for tanks like the Uwell Crown or TFV4.

If you want a lower power mouth to lung tank, look at the Nautilus Mini, Aspire Triton with 1.8ohm coils or the Subtank with 1.2 ohm coils.

Give us an idea of the type of tank you are looking for, and that would help us give you better answers.

I myself also just hopped back onto the vaping bandwagon. Sick and tired of being sick and tired lol. My current setup is relatively expensive, but i feel is well worth it.

I got the Triton 2 tank and a Seiglei 150w Mod. Although i dont think ill ever use the 150 watss, i do like the idea of sub ohming if i want to.

I'm just a newbie ( 7 weeks since I last lit up after a 50+ years love affair with smoking ) but have found that if you want a set up that's easy to use, has long battery life, variable airflow so that you can adjust the draw and has the potential to grow with you then an iStick30w coupled with a Nautilus Mini tank works well. I have three of these tanks - two on iStcks and one on my Kamry epipe and a little bird tells me that I might be getting a third tank and another iStick30w for Christmas.

Good luck in getting off of tobacco with whatever you choose and you will get plenty of support on this forum.

I would reccomend the Defender 36 watt coupled with an Arctic tank with 0.5 ohm coils . I have been using this setup for the past five months and it is awesome . Plenty of vapor and taste. I vape tobacco flavours about 5ml a day at 16mg strength. The coils last from 4 to 6 weeks at 3 quid a pop which is less than a quid a week. I would buy this setup again .
55 quid for the entire setup. I don't bother with tempreture control and would not advise anybody else to either. Kanthal is safest.

+1 on the Evic VTC mini. It's cheap and has all the bells and whistles. Great starter mod. If you want a MTL tank, the Nautilus still gets my vote for a starter tank. For Lung hits and clouds, the Arctic tank is great for a starter. Both those tanks are older models, but they are proven performers and you can get the coils just about anywhere for cheap.

Tanks.

1. Aspire Nautilus or Nautilus mini for a good amount of vapour for normal juices at about 15W for MTL. Bullet proof construction. Amazing coils. Clean tasting, decent clouds.

2. Subtank Nano or another sub ohm tank to use with higher VG juices at around 25-30W for heavy lung hits to really just kill those cig cravings dead. Ever dripped on the old atties (501 / 306 etc??) - it's like that but better. Some people go higher power and even lower ohms than me, but starting point usually .5 ohms and 25-30W and see how you do from there...

Device.

Then yeah a device that can handle around 30W. I looked at them all and ended up with the Coolfire 4 because it is metal and sturdy as hell and under £40. In the vapeshop they wanted to sell me a Kanger Subox and I was like no way it's plastic lol. Saw the guy who works there vaping a CF4 and said yup that's the one I want. Same with the EVIC, was put off by the plastic. I-stick, is good I thought but prefer the metal CF4. Okay the CF4 - once the battery is gone, the device is toast, but should be a year at least for a moderate vaper. You might end up wanting super clouds (I get super clouds at .5ohm and 30W but you might want more for some weird reason, some people do) and 100W so might suit you to just buy one that can provide the power if you go down the RTA / RDA .1ohm triple coil build etc route eventually...

Anyhow something that fires up to 30W and a Nautilus full size or mini and a subtank are things you need to experience, as things have changed a LOT since you've been away. I've just started again since I last vaped in 2013 on an EGO-C set up and it's a new world.

I still swear by genuine Kanger EVODS for office use, but I am a light vaper, only smoked 5 a day, so that's good enough for me at work. But at home yeah the Naughtilius mini and subtanks are great.

Then Juice.

1. I'd recommend cheaper juices (I use Hangsen) for office use and the Nautilus if you work in an office and can't lug a mod around.

2. Then heavier VG juice for the subtanks. It's pricey for what it essentially is - VG, PG and some food flavourings and they tear through it fast - but it is a damn good vape. But 3ml will last you 2 sessions, seriously then it's gone, an hour of vaping and then need to refill. But a good vape.

3. I don't DIY but some premium juices and some cheap juices mix well if you're smart, so it drops the price per ML for the sub ohm vaping.... For example I like RY4 so mix Hangsen RY4 (2.50 per 10ml) with Space Jam eclipse (£6 per 10ml) and it's a really nice vape...

I'd recommend trying the Nautilus and the subtanks in B&M stores first. If you feel the Nautilus is enough for you you'll save a ,ot of money on juice and coils down the road. But me I've tried the sub ohm thing and well, there's no going back after that. I keep it as a treat and don't always do it daily, but yeah, it's good. Not for everyone so try it out before you buy... Good luck...

As for non tanks (though it kind of is) I swear by the EVOD for best Ego battery compliment to just puff away on all day and not draw attention at work. 80PG and low VG juice and you're good to go. But that is like what you experienced before, not like the Nautilus or sub ohm tanks, that's a whole new level.

Thanks guys/gals for the replies! Some of this now is all new to me. I used to have a couple of box mods and a saber touch with map tanks then moved onto a vivi nova tank, I think they are now obsolete.....I may be wrong.

My sweet spot back then was at 5 volts with (i think ) a 2 something to 3 ohms atomizer or tank. Now what is sub ohm tanks etc... and watts .... Back then we just went by voltage and the ohms of the atomizer or tank we used. I think I am going to try out the evic vtc mini with a nautilus tank. Can someone pm me a website that sells both these items? Thanks for the help!

Is this the tank?

$20.26 Authentic Aspire Nautilus Mini BVC Clearomizer - 2.0ml / 1.8ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

It says clearomizer and not a tank.

Man if you're getting a Nautilus please do not by a clone.. you can never be sure with FT...

How can you tell if its a clone? It said authentic so I thought it was the real thing.

Can you pm me a site that has the real tank for sale? I want to buy the evic , nautilus tank , and battery all on one site.

On Sub ohm: indeed in far vape but recent human history, most tanks used 1.8, 2.2 etc ohm coils. Youngsters will laugh at you bringing that out to the street these days but they still provide a very decent vape don't get me wrong.
Next to any recent tank has coils nowadays with 0.x (so below 1) ohm resistance. In other words, sub ohm resistance.

In normal (power/watt) mode this is a pretty low resistance and therefore the constant output of watts (and volts) will be relatively high, creating a lot of heat and thus vapor.

In temperature control (TC) mode the sub ohm resistance can go crazily low (<0.2) but here the device regulates the output to a set temperature limit preventing dry hits and unpleasant vapor as well as exploding batteries. (It actually measures the fluctuation in resistance in the wire of the coil as it heats up, instead of the actual temp but thats beyond the point here)

If you have some patience , you can order at a site like Fasttech.com. Their prices are hard to beat but expect at least 10-15days wait.
Otherwise use vapecrawler to find nice offers for a more local outlet.

If fasttech says it's authentic, it is. The clones are listed as 'styled'.

I've used that mod for 7 months. It carried me over from using a sub-ohm tank with premade coils to building my own. The variable wattage is enough to give me a BIG playground to work with. Or keep it simple simple. I used a herakles.

IM in the same exact boat, just came back after a year + of smoking. I have some recommendations 4 ya.
I'm going for the EVIC VTC mini with the Kanger Subtank. OR the Aspire Pegasus Mini w/ Nautilus tank.
If you want good long battery life, you could alternatively go with the EVIC VT full - sized mod. ;)
The Sigelei mods are also great for the price, you can get a 75 or 100 watt sigelei for under 80 bucks easy.
last but not least, as recommended above, the coolfireIV is pretty sweet for an internal batt mod!!
The KANGER SUBOX MINI and NANO kits are both great too. The nano kit is the same thing (w/o rebuildable atty)

there's plenty of great tanks. Aspire makes great tanks. the smoktech rebuildable is good. Kanger subtank.
even the ego ONE tank that COMES with the evic vtc mini puts out some pretty great clouds.
