NEED advice on which nicotine PG/VG mix to order

I'm gonna order from either myfreedomsmokes or wizard labs...

I figure I'll order a pg bottle, a vg bottle, and of course the nicotine... But what mix nicotine (pg/vg) should I order... I'll be wanting to make 60/40 batches at 12mg and 70/30 batches at 12mg...

I'm confused about which pg/vg nicotine ratio and what amount MG (24,36,48,60) I'll need in order to make either of these..

10 or so 15 or 20ml size bottles for mixing.
Mix 5 ml per bottle (3ml PG+2ml VG is 60/40 mix) flavour and NO NIC only. Don't waste NIC testing flavours you hate.

Steep.
Most tobacco types benefit from a week or more, fruits and light/layered flavours may take a month or more to blend properly.

Read everything about the flavours you are using and about how others have mixed them.

The ejuice me up calculator is the bomb DIY tool.......... I buy 100mg nic in a 50/50 PG-VG solution and it is pretty easy to work with, plust a very little goes a long way.

I knew I was going to stick with DIY so I ordered 500ml nic, and a liter each of VG and PG

you may want to start with a smaller QTY unless you think you are going to be in for the long hall

I'd just order some 48mg or 36mg PG. VG is a pita to work with.

Great advice for the first timer. Do lots of reading on mixing but starting with the above recommendation is a very safe bet. Also start your flavor adding low like 5 - 7% for non tobacco such as fruits, creams and candy flavors and 2 - 3% for tobacco flavor (1 drop per 5 ml = 1%). There very strong and you can always add more if needed. After adding flavoring it will be slightly less then 12% (about 10 - 11%) but a very good starting point. Be sure to read all safety tips on handling NIC but at that level the risk is much lower. You really need to know the risks and proper mix down procedures when handling higher amounts such as 48ml and 100ml.

Tobacco, coffees, cappucino's.....THESE can take 3 weeks or more.

Dessert and fruit eliquids are ready to vape on day 1, and they won't change much at all over the course of time....The coloration may darken but the flavor won't change much on desserts + fruit vapes.....only if alcohol is present in the flavorings used.

I would start with your target 12% pg and 12% vg until you fully understand the proper procedure for deluting NIC solutions.

Correct, the same amount of 48mg will go farther than 36mg if you dilute it to your desired ratio. I buy 48mg in 100% pg and my final mixes are 50/50 pg/vg at 12mg.

ok I'm almost out of my 12mg ecigexpress unflavored nicotine e-liquid that I vaped. I made smaller batches of this, mixing the juice with flavor.. so I was vaping at below 12mg..

I re-read this thread but am still unclear on what exactly I need to order for my next order..

I want to vape 12mg AND try diff flavors... so could/should I buy say for example 36mg PG NIC and then mix that with regular PG, VG, and flavor (PG)??

Why would I need to order perhaps NIC also in VG?? A poster in this thread suggested to buy 12mg VG AND 12mg PG as well as 100% vg and 100% pg.. How would this work? Shouldn't I order 36 or 48mg?

That will work just fine. I recently started getting into DIY myself and was confused about what level nic I should by as well.

The biggest reasons for buying higher % nic liquid:
-Ability to make all different levels of PG/VG ratios and nic content.
-Cost (though it's fairly insignificant in my opinion)
-Can store easier (as many people seem to freeze their nic liquid)

The example given to me was if your target nicotine level was 24mg, and you purchased 48mg 100% PG nicotine liquid, the lowest you could go to get to your target of 24mg would be a 70/30 PG/VG mix (w/ 20% flavoring). Not 60/40, not 50/50.

In your case, because your target is 12mg, you don't necessarily HAVE to buy a 48mg+ nic liquid, though you certainly can. You will just have to do a little more cutting/mixing to get to that 12mg target than if you had purchased the 36mg.

And with the calculator to help it becomes incredibly easy to figure out the proportions.

Having both allows you the flexibility to make a nicotine base ranging from 100% PG to 100% VG, and everything in between, while still maintaining that 12mg level. You also eliminate the need to add any additional PG/VG in order to cut down the nic content.

If you're going to use eJuice me up. Be sure to set nicotine strength juice to PG 100% and 48mg then save as default. That way it's ready and you don't forget to change it every time you start the program. It's default is 50/50 100mg every time you open the program.

I figured the 48mg should stretch further and thus be more cost efficient in the long run.. The nic is the more expensive part as opposed to the plain pg or vg, so using less nic juice is cheaper.. I don't know if its actually the cheapest route tho... maybe the 12mg vg and 12mg pg route would be cheaper..

oh well I'm bad at math, I haven't thought out the different combinations/ possibilities.. I do like the idea of "Ability to make all different levels of PG/VG ratios and nic content", so that's a plus.. I'm gonna mostly do 70/30 batches at 12mg I imagine..
