Hey guys,

I would like to build a fully mech mod for a 18650, but I dont know the science and understanding be hind it at all. Like how do they even work? Lol ya I would really like some tutorials, diagrams and pics so I can understand the science and then start planing my own design.

I also dont know what the electical parts ill need either. I dont want to use wires or soldering and want the best parts.

I tried to search for this info but there wasnt much for full mech or that was clear enough for me. I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks guys

Me too:D The concept is simple. The execution of the concept is not so simple. There are many different ways to accomplish the same thing. This diagram shows the basic concept. mechanical-mod-diagram.jpg

buy a mech first try building one WAYYY later.
This

A mech mod works by making the circuit mechanically and has no electrical components (except the battery) so usually the positive connects straight to the 510 positive and the negative connects to the case making it negative and the 510 is also on the case making the circuit. There are possible variations, but what gandymarsh posted is the simplest way of doing it. Electrical mods are easier to do because you don't have to be so precise with everything, case too short and battery won't fit, too long and won't make a connection, 510 slightly off and again no connection. Watch a few reviews on youtube about mech mods especially when they compare an original to a clone and you might understand how complicated this simple thing can be.

sorry should have mentioned this, i do have a mech mod. a 18350 epipe. i just figured that when the day came and wanted a 18650 for a for sub ohm that i would make it, cause it would be fun.

i am good at carpentry, but hearing this i wonder. the reason i wanted to make it fully mechanical was because i thought it was the most efficient (as in get the most out of my battery) and easiest to make...

so how much efficiency would i lose if i used a wire?

thanks guys
