hi there, im new to the forum but i,ve been lurking in here for a lil while.
I decided to create a new thread because I nned your precious help!
I'm vaping only since 2-3 weeks.
I bought a Itaste CLK 1280 mah and I was originaly vaping on an Aspire BDC tank. I wasnt quite satisfy but the vape so, after reading reviews, I went for an Aspire Nautilus Mini. The vaper production and taste were perfect at first. It lasted for about a week, then began pulling some sort of dry hits... I'm not sure its quite really dry hits because I do not taste any burning taste but I get nearly 0 vape on the exhale and the vape is HURTING my lung like crazy, like burning pain, and i'm mouth vaping (not lung vaping directly). Tought it might be the coil so I changed it. Worked great for a few hours then the same thing happened.
The thing his though, that it doesnt happen all the time. I can get a few good vapes then get this weird burning vape. I let the ecig sit and take another toot and its fine again... so I was wondering that maybe the problem wasnt the coil.
So I tried with my ''old'' aspire BDC tank and the same thing happens again, but not all the time (maybe 50% of the time).

I'm getting very confused as to what is the source of the problem. I bought all my stuff from a local shop and I might go there but I dont know whats the problem.
Can it be the CLK battery ? I noticed its getting a bit hotter that it used to be but not burning hot to the touch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because now, I very afraid to take any vape right now because when I get this bad vape its really hurting and veryyyy unpleasant!

THanx all!:p

It would seem that your coil is not getting fed enough liquid sometimes. Could be many reasons for this, from your liquids being to thick, to something to do with the specific tanks your using. I haven't had those tanks, so I won't advice about those. Have you tried turning the voltage down? That could possibly help.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Sounds like you are getting a version of "dry hits". There are a couple of things you can do:

1. Dial down your voltage. This will vaporize the eliquid at a slower rate (if your battery allows you to do this)
2. Decrease the airflow. The decrease in airflow will increase vacuum inside the tank's atomizer, which should increase the flow of juice to the wick.
3. Take a sharp draw (or two) on your drip tip (without engaging your battery). This will pull more eliquid into the coil so that it will be available when you press the battery button and take a draw.

You will get the feel of this over time and develop a sense of how often you will need to do this to avoid "dry hits". The PG/VG ratio of your eliquid also comes into play, as VG is thicker than PG . If you use high VG try adding a few drops of distilled water to your tank to thin out the eliquid. You could also install a higher ohm coil.

started over your head?check.
did you go back to the B&M for help,no,check.
using devices a head of your learning curve? of course double check.
sorry i am going to bed.
see ya,regards
mike

Posting just to post check never saw where he brought up and b&m. And we all know they have our best interests in mind like used car sales men check. Thanks for being of any help to a new member double check. A nataluis mini is not advanced equipment.

Rant over you are describing a wicking issue.fine dry hit dry again are you priming coils before hand what resistance coils are you using?with the wicking what kind of juice are you pumping?need a little for info to be able to help more.

thanx for the quick answers.
Skoony, have a good sleep ,I think you need it, regards.
For the others trying to help, I would like to make a few specifications:
I'm vaping normally at 4,0 volts, and I'm using 70-30 PG-VG. I primed all my coils before use and let them sit after for a 15mins minimum.
I have read alot on the topic and tried every options like drawing on the tip without engaging the battery, I have also tried every airflow options the the nautilus mini and tried to lower the voltage (even though I would not beleive that vaping at 4 v would give me a 50% chance of dry hiting and killing my lungs like crazy).
I,m using the new bvc 1,8omhs coils from Aspire.
I vaped for a few days at 4,3 and 4,5 v without have any dry hits before.
I've noticed that this problem began after I forget my ecig in my car in a near to below freezing temperature, Can this be the problem?
Also, my juice if expiring in less than a mouth (dec 2014). I purchased this liquid 2 weeks ago and didnt notice the expiring date before arriving home and filling my tank, is this an issue?
Like I said, i'm getting crazy dry hits even from my old tank, with which I never had before.
I,m going back to the store tomorrow( if someone is wondering) but I feel like maybe some people in here can help me even more
!

Like any trouble shooting you must understand the process and then diagnose what can cause the failure you experience.
Using a clearo it's very high gauge coils, they don't last long, depending on your vaping. Really is probably just gunked coils, replace the atomizer. The nautilus was what I used before graduating to rebuildables, and I swapped coils every week or so. There are variables as to why they stopped performing as quickly as they did, but the end result is the same. The nautilus is the best clearomizer I ever used, but that was its limits. If you want more than it can offer you can start building, and that is quite the rabbit hole.

ya, but I cant imagine the new bvc coils are lasting me 2-3 hours only heheh and remember that I bought the Nautilus mini only a week ago!

...., I apologize, I didn't fully read that initial post apparently, and I've been drinking lol. 1.8 ohm nautilus coil is what I used back in the day, at around 5.5 to 6 watts....or 3 volts, there abouts. VG/PG I usurer mostly 50/50 or 70/30 both I gaped about the same. You are running too hot, the nautilus just can't wick that quickly. Once you start to burn wick it is steady downhill from there.

For the nautilus I would use VW set at 5.5 or 6 watts at 1.8 ohms. Try that, I vaped pretty hardcore and would get maybe a week or two with good flavor production.

I,m trying 3v (minimum) and I changed the liquid but I think that 70-30 is pretty thin anyways, and its still hurting like hell, every vape I take.
I just noticed that when I just vaped, my nauilus tank is getting warm-hot and thats new.(the glass and everything)
I'm getting the same resuts with 2 different tanks so I'm suspecting it might be the battery.
I might try another battery tomorrow (i only have 1 here).
If I get a dry hit and it smells burning, what ever the cause is, do you think the coil is fried anyways (even if its not the source of the problem)?

Been way to long since I used any type of clearo, but there are really only two reasons for dry hits, to much power or lack of wicking.

If I used 2 different coils and fried them within 2hours and also used 2 different tank, i'm assuming the problem is over power. Since its happening with minimum voltage i can vape on, can it be a malfonctionning battery? I havent found any info on this on the net.

Sounds like you only have the 1 battery.
If you had another battery to compare, then you could at least verify that it is not the battery that's causeing the problem.

If it's the battery (and that would be unusual), then yes if the battery is putting out too much voltage, it could cause the coil to burn juice and then the coil will keep tasting burnt until you dryburn it to get the gunk off

If an iTaste is getting hot it has issues. Those types of batteries shouldn't get hot...
