voltage and wattage are linked, by way of the resistance (ohms) of the coil you are using... 3.4volts on a 1.8ohm coil (standard nautilus coil) would be a snooch under 6.5 watts... i generally just adjust wattage, but works either way... typically, the 'sweet spot' with those coils is from 9-14 watts... so, part of issue may well have been not enough power hitting the coils...

there's probably nothing wrong with your mvp; just lower the voltage if stuff tastes burnt; or raise it (slowly) if there's nothing happening.
yeah I really don't think it has anything to do with the mvp. it shouldn't be, it's still practically brand new. I did try to change voltage and even tried watts and it was hardly making any difference :/ which is why I just gave up and bought the new vape lol.

really? I feel like I remember it tasting chemically when I raised the volts... idk :( maybe i'll try it again

your mileage may vary on this... higher voltage/ wattage may have produced better vapor and brought out actual taste of juice - and if the taste WAS actually chemically, then it may have been the juice... is it same juice you are using now also?

Yeah I do have the same juice I used on the itaste but was planning on picking up some from a different place this weekend so I'll try it out.. You may be right about it being the juice because even in my evod sometimes I get a chemically taste. I figured it was just the coil going bad but maybe not.. But sometimes it almost tasted as if there was no juice in it and I was just smoking straight coil. It was pretty nasty

These devices are very simple and only a few things can cause low vapor (few variables) ---- Most of the time it is either low battery power or gummed up coils. Coils that have the resistance way off can be problematic too.
Well I'm definitely infamous for changing out coils often lol so maybe the coils I bought from that random website ended up being crappy. Dcfluegel also brought up that the juice I was using could have been causing the chemically taste. So both the coils and the juice combined could have been causing the issues I suppose

If you are positive that your battery is producing enough power, then you need to turn your attention to the tank system -- before you do that though make sure that the contacts between your tank and your mod are completely clean.... Make sure there is no e juice, dirt, oil, or any other substance on the contacts. I regularly clean my contacts off with qtips and rubbing alcohol.

If your connections are fine, then remove the coil from your tank. Get yourself a new coil somewhere and prime it with e juice first, then install it. Make sure the new coil is the correct one for the Nautilus tank. Put your mod setting on the lowest voltage/wattage it will go and take a few tokes off the thing. Slowly turn the voltage up by a couple of tenths of a volt at a time. Each time take several more puffs before increasing the voltage again. You will eventually reach a voltage where the the flavor starts to taste a bit funny or burnt. You then know you have reached the max voltage for that coil/wick.. Then back off the voltage a bit and the funny taste should no longer be there.

If this method doesn't work and it starts acting the same way, then the only other alternative is to turn your attention to the e juice itself. Higher VG juices are thicker and as a consequence do not flow very well into the wick (on the Nautilus tank). Other larger tank systems can handle thicker juices much better and never have this problem. When that happens you will get burnt taste and low vapor production......... Once you burn a coil like then they are no longer fit for use and need to be replaced because you will never get the burnt flavor out of them.

So to solve this problem it would be a good idea if you use a thinner e juice with a lower amount of VG in it and also replace the burnt coils at the same time. This should solve the problem.

Through reading all of this I suspect its your juice. A combination of high VG and just bad to start with. Mabye try a 50/50 blend and it should wick better. The MVP3 has enough power to upgrade the tank system. This is my go to tank for 90% of my vaping. $22.74 Authentic SMOK VCT Pro Sub Ohm Tank Clearomizer - 5ml / 0.6ohm / 22mm diameter / stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
You can get them a bit cheaper if you look around. This was just the first picture I ran across. If you decide to try this tank it will wick the high VG just fine

@AXIOM_1 Hey! Just wanted to thank you again.. I got new coils and tried 50/50 juice and my itaste is ripping pretty hard again :) Not sure which was the problem, but I'm leaning toward the juice I was using. Either way, it's back to normal... for now (until I screw it up again somehow) lol. Thanks to everyone else also for the input! Couldn't have done it without you guys. yay!

The Evod 2 uses an eGo threaded battery just like in the picture @thomas l posted. If you look closely at the top of the battery it has threads on the outside. Those threads are called eGo threads. If you look up inside the bottom of your evod you'll be able to see the matching threads. Thats all you basically need to know to find a battery for your evod. Just about any vapor store sells them, but you'll probably find them cheaper online.

DEALS and STEALS - Deals and Steals | E-Cigarette Forum (go to last couple pages)
FORUM SUPPLIERS - ECF Forum Suppliers | E-Cigarette Forum
    COUPONS - Stores - ECF E-Cigarette Coupons

I looked at the Deals and Steals page and found this : EVOD Battery regulated electronic cigarette

Spinner III | 1600mAh eGo Battery - MyFreedomSmokes

I would recommend something like the Heatvape Defender, or the Istick 30. Both of these have adapters for the old Ego threaded clearomiser so she would be able to use the tank she is using but as she progressed to other tanks with the 510 pin she can use those too. And the Istick 30 will Fire up to 30 watts and the Defender can fire up to 36 watts.

The Defender unscrew the base where the tank sits flip it over and screw it back in place and it has the ego threads.
