I have an eGo T and decided I'd want to experiment with cartomizers. I picked up some Boge 510 LR and SR cartomizers, and some Virgin Vapor 100% VG juice. Now I know that most people are saying that 100% VG is way too thick for Anything but maybe direct dripping, but I found that it works superb in my tanks, and the VV website states that it is suitably thinned to use in a cartomizer. Personally, it seems even a bit thinner than my Totally Wicked Camel flavor juice.

I've tried popping off the little white cap and dripping it in to the cart several drops at a time and letting it soak in, and I've tried filling the bottom half or so of the condom and pushing the cart in to it, but no matter what I do, I get a gurgle sound and burnt flavor when I try it.

Is there a way that I can thin it down? Should I try and thin it down? Is there anything I can try? Am I just doing it wrong?

I would love any ideas from the experts, or anyone with experience, thanks!

Probably not going to be much help as I have only used attys for the last 8 months, but when i used carto's for a short period of time i found the condom method worked best for me but never used 100% vg.

My first thoughts are because it's all vg juice and thicker is to let the carto sit for some time--1-2hrs or overnight--to absord more fully into the polyfil. I did this, when I had time, with 70pg/30vg juice and the carto always seemed to work better.
cheers,

I have used Virgin Vapors 100% VG juices since last April in carto's and have no problems. I use the condom method...first from the battery end and then from the white plug end, until I see a drop come out the center of the battery end. Shake them some, blow through the middle and good to go. I also only use Boge carto's and as much as I hate to say it, I just had to trash three of them because they tatsed burnt and one the center tube caved in. I have heard a lot of folks are having some issues with the Boges :(, so I would sugggest trying a different one of your cartos. Fill it super good and give it a few minutes before trying to vape it. Good Luck! :)

Virgin Vapor VG juice is the thinnest you will find, try giving it some time to soak in, it may take an hour

After letting the juice sit and soak for a while, they seem to be working well, actually, much better than the tanks. They seem to be much more quiet (less sizzle and gurgle) and take a bit more effort to draw on than the tanks, which I prefer. So letting them sit for a bit really helped...Next I am going to revisit the condom fill method as suggested by tyleris12 before going to bed tonight, we'll see how that works.

I also like the idea of adding some diluent, so I may try adding a couple of drops of distilled water and see how that works out.

Great suggestions, Thanks for the input!

I'm in the same boat as gatorfan, use atomizers almost exclusively. I'm certain that the filler saturates very slow in a cartomizer. If you get a burnt taste the carto is toast. Might help to buy one of the clear cartos to see how slowly the filler saturates. When I need to use a carto I fill and let it sit overnight. Stellar tip from this forum since you use an eGo. Fill your carto then put it in your eGo cone. The cone will keep it upright and your juice will saturate the filler. I can't remember who to give credit to but I love her/his tip. Good luck.

This is how I fill them. I can get 10+ days moderate use out of a Boge. I only use clear juices with 20% or less VG

----
How I fill Vapor4Life KR8 cartos and Boge 510 cartos

With the carto off the battery... Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
Shake and open the eliquid

Fill
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18 drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges and most KR8 cartos are about 1ml).
Wait 15 seconds or so then see how many more drops the carto stuffing will soak in easily.

Cleanup
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges and the KR8 cartos I use have a defined center air channel and I want to see light through that) While the carto is still open end down, touch a soft bunch of tissue to the top of the stuffing to get the loose juice - this will help prevent leaks.

Settle (first fill only)
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me (I use 20% Vg or less) then you may need to wait much longer.

While vaping
While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting hotter than normal, I take the carto off the battery and add eliquid. Also, I use such light sediment-free juices, I can look at the stuffing and see if it needs juice because the stuffing goes back to near-white.

I often use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge and KR8 cartos (not to drip into since the juice would head for the central air channel). Easy to pop out to add juice.

I find the easiest and most successful way of filling new cartos for the first time is to use a blunt needle and while holding the carto horizontal shoot some juice into the the batt end. Immediately place the carto on a flat surface and roll back and forth a number of times. This ensures the bottom of the filler is saturated. I then fill the stuffing normally from the top until it has that "slushy" look. blow out the batt end into paper towel and vape. I gotten good enough at this that when I blow the carto virtually no juice comes out and subsequent fillings only through the top into the stuffing v
