Ok, here is a bit of background.
I've been smoking for 30+ years now. Always full flavor, and almost always 100's.
I smoke somewhere over a pack a day (hard to keep track since I roll my own and don't actually have 'packs' to keep track of)

About 3 years ago, I tried vaping for the first time. Got the mini system from Volcano.
It was actually pretty good for like 3 months. Never actually quit smoking, but cut down considerably. But after a while I was just needing more and more. The hit wasn't as good, or as satisfying, the longer I went. So I just went back to smoking.
I recently picked up a Blu+ to try it again. Seems to be a better hit than the old Volcano, but still not satisfying, and the taste is crap.
I've since learned from reading up on things around here that those minis just won't supply the nicotine I need.

So, I am looking for some guidance on what kind of system I should be looking at.
Ideally, I am looking for something simple. I am not interested in fussing with things. I just want something that will give me a good hit, and is low maintenance. I don't want to spend a ton, but am willing to invest up front to save trouble and more costs down the road.

For simplicity and decent vapor, I'd recommend either an eleaf istick 30w, or an Innokin MVP 20w, with either an Aspire Nautilus tank or an eleaf GS Air tank. An MVP 20 w and GS Air tank would cost about $35 or $40, add in a few packs of coils for $10 per pack of 5. And juice. You'll want to try maybe an 18 mg nicotine juice or even 24 mg to start. Good luck and welcome back to vaping!

I was a smoker for 11 years (I know not 30 buuuttt...)
I have tried quiting a few times. (Patches, Meds, Cold Turkey and Normal E-cigs like the "Blu" one)
Went out and bought a (Crappy) vape, (Generic Ego twist) It was working okay, but it was dying too fast (wasn't lasting through the day)
So I bought an Eleaf iStick 30w with an Aspire Atlantis tank. LOVE IT. I started with 24MG of Nic (when I was using the Ego twist) when I got the iStick, I went down to 18MG, but Im going to drop down to 12MG cuz the Nic taste is too much in this one..

Good luck :)

I recognize your dilemna. I went through that path that many have trod before. I bought tobacco several pounds at a time for my pipe smoking addiction. My lungs were becoming problematic and was coughing a lot and concerned for my health prospects. I purchased several pen sets and wasted my mony. When after several months I came to a refillable tank set up with an inexpensive battery device to run the tank atomizer, it was a miracle. I was finally able to enjoy this nicotine delivery system and free myself from tobacco completely within a few days. Started with 12mg nicotine but soon dropped to 6mg which I use today. The variety of juice flavors is quite satisfying though a tobacco flavor is still occasionally pleasurable. I have no desire to ever return to using tobacco. My lungs feel 100% better and there is no more heavy coughing. It is a very satisfying, freeing and liberating. I like and use the Kbox and kanger subtank. This combination can be had for about 50-60 dollars. Batteries and a charger will be another onetime expense. Eliquid is where you will find the greatest expense. I purchase my juice from VistaVapors that have good prices and a very good selection of flavors. I am an old geezer at 79, so it is never too late to start. I have been vaping for about 11 months now and it is great, i love it. There is this also fine community to support you as you progress. Good luck.

I too was a 30 yr smoker and the Aspire Nautilus Mini was the game changer to me. When I paired the Nautilus with a mod (like the iStick 30W) it wwas a guarantee to myself I would walk away from the cigs. The draw and vapor on the Nautilus is more like a cig than any tank I had used. Both the iStick 30W and the Nautilus are very user friendly, have excellent track records, are grab and go type of units, and are best for the beginner because the Nautilus is a mouth to lung tank. Subtanks in my opinion are more for the lung hitter type vape and need to be grown into.

Good luck in your vape journey.

Hi and welcome. I'm new to this too. 4 days ago I paid £50 for a Joyetech eGrip. It's very easy to use, looks and feels great and, in my very inexperienced opinion, offers great taste - I haven't wanted or craved a stinky since I bought it. For me it's easy as it all came in one box, relatively few components to put together and you just need to replace the atomizer head when it's time. It's perhaps slightly more expensive than some of the set-ups described above, but I'd definitely recommend it. That said, the guys above know what they're talking about.

Best of luck to you and happy vaping

I agree with the nautilus mini. I was smoking a pack to two packs a day 2 weeks ago. Got a Eleaf iStick 20w to go with it. Have not had a cig since. I would go to a local vape shop and see what they have that you can get a feel for. If I had done a little research ahead of time I would have gotten the 30 or 50watt iStick as it had room to grow.

Only vap shop anywhere near me is just the local Cheap Tobacco store. I plan on stopping in tomorrow after work to see what they have.
I've been checking some videos on YouTube to kind of compare the suggestions.
Right now I am leaning towards the iStick 30w and the Nautilus Mini.
That iStick looks like about the smallest battery with any kind of juice. Which does bring me to another question.
How well do these things travel? Because I'm going to be carrying it in my pocket to work and in the car, etc.
Or would I be better off getting something like an iStick mini for a more portable rig at work, or concerts and such?

I wouldn't get the mini, it limits what you can do and the power isn't there. Stick with the 30W and Nautilus it travels fine. Some juice companies sell sample packs which are a cheaper way to try juices without having to buy a sized bottle. Wild Vapes is one. The best thing you can do is travel to a vape shop and sample some from their vape bar. That way you can find what you ike and know what to order online. You might check this link for deals and bargains and such DEALS and STEALS - Deals and Steals | E-Cigarette Forum (go to last couple pages)

Well, that was a waste of time. They had a bunch of stuff on display, but not much seemed to be name brand.
Lots of knock-offs/clones. They did have an iStick mini and were asking $35 for it
I found 30w for less than that online.

I think I will just do a bit of online shopping tonight and see what I can find.
Once I get set up, I will probably give their juice a try, as it is on my way home from work. And it would be more convenient to buy that locally.

In general, it's best to try juice at a store and buy batteries, mods and tanks online. I highly recommend myvaporstore and myfreedomsmokes. Great selections and pretty awesome prices. If you have to have the best prices for a specific item, look up vapecrawler.com. let us know how the search turns out!

Thank you so much for those links.
The first one had the battery and tank I was looking at on sale.
So, I got an iStick 30w + Nautilus Mini for less than $60 including the shipping.
Awesome! I use both sites almost exclusively (juice being the exception). You'll find that if you want something more advanced later on they have a great selection. They also have the coils you'll need to replace later on in stock.

Yeah, I noticed that after I placed my order.
Should have grabbed some. Especially after I noticed that orders over $75 shipped free.
Oh well. That's what happens when I get too excited.
You might be able to add it to your order. I'd shoot them a quick email just to check. If nothing else you can get it shipped at the same time.
