Well, I have 2 DSE701's......yes.they do run cold.

Once its torn down,
coils can be made and replaced fairly easily with a little practice.
The low vapor production is usually from 2 things, poor battery voltage, or a carboned up atty coil. The second being the problem I found with both mine.
I've since replaced mine many times. 2.5 ohms seems to be nice up to 3 ohms.
With an auto draw switch, you want it to heat pretty fast.
Higher ohms and slow initial heat promotes gunk and then a long hot draw carbons the residuals.
If you read
reviews on the DSE701, this seems to be a common problem. Once you take it apart, its not a bad unit at all to repair and keep going.
