I have a tank Crossing box mod and when i purchased it the guy in the vape shop said i had to put grease between the connector and the firing button or it could get to hot and fry the switch. He wasnt very specific on what kind of grease, he just said its in a tube at o reillys. All they had in a tube was break grease and my gut tells me thats not a very good idea. Any suggestions or reccomendations for what to actually purchase?

You want something call Dielectric grease or NON-conductive grease.. It will be white or clear in color. I gotta say a properly adjusted switch would go farther to prevent, arching, than just adding grease, to suffocate the fire. The grease available at autoparts stores in the electrical/lighting area, for lubing & water prooffing light sockets and connections.

I'd use Noalox or Deoxit Gold, as previously suggested. My Tank Crossing already had what looked to be Noalox on the switch. You can find Noalox at some of the big box hardware stores - I found it at Home Depot.

Then put a FET in it.

The Tank Crossing has a fully mechanical switch.
