Hey guys I'm Alex,Been vaping since those cig-a-likes came out and I'm just starting out on mech mods and I have some problems and it would be great if u guys could help me out...I just got a used nemesis mech mod..idk if it's authentic or not but it say nemesis 2400 on it with the brand amox...something something on it and I out everything together and every time I press the fire button the body of the mod gets scalding hot...and very lil vape comes out.Im using a velocity rda with very old and ....ty coils on them..Can't remember what gauge but all I know is that it's been on the velocity for 3 months...rda works ok with the old coils on other box mods but not on the nemesis...I rlly like the idea of mech mods and I hope u guys can help me out. Thanks guys:)

What battery do you use and how low are your ohms? If the mod gets hot, it's a sign that you have a dead short or too low ohms, and are in the risk of venting the battery in your mod, and potentially turning your mechanical mod into a pipe bomb.

One of two things is happening.

1. Yoy need to build to a higher resistance.

2. You need to get sone good high drain batteries like LG, Samsung, or sony.

If you keep it up your battery is going to vent or explode.

.25-.3 resistance is the lowest resistance i would recommend on good batteries.

My current coil is .78 ohms.

sounds like there is a short in the system... have you checked the ohms of the coil??
Even before you put the atty on a mod ( any mod) you need to verify the ohms of the coil while it is in the atty...
I suggest you dont use that setup untill you have gotten the atty right... mods should not get hot that quickly...
If the mod has gotten as hot as you have described, the battery has been comprimised...
if you dont have an ohm meter... get one. and use it :)

Thanks man I'll try my luck...I'll probs just build a couple Clapton coils and see what happens

Dude, Don't just build something and see what happens. You have to toss the battery, it has been shorted, and we still don't know what batteries you are using. If you have batteries with "fire" in the name, just toss them out. They are 10A batteries at maximum.

Read up on Baditudes blogs over here on ECF for battery safety. Mechanical mods are notorious for the amount of skill you need to have before building anything on them. Please listen to what all of us have said, and get good quality batteries, ohm meter and don't build anything randomly on your dripper.

Trying your luck with mechanical mods might just result in you blowing the whole mod up in your hands and near your face, risking extreme injuries in the worst case scenario, third degree burns in the best case scenario.

We don't want anything bad to happen to any vapers, especially someone who hasn't got that much info on mechanical mods, and the maintenance and battery safety when using mechanical mods.

Please, leave the mechanical mod, and read the blogs on ECF about battery safety and how to use mechanical mods safely before even touching it.

If you have batteries with "fire" in the name, just toss them out take them to a Radio Shack or Home Depot to be recycled.
Fixed that for you. Please don't just toss lithium batteries in the garbage. Any place that sells them, should also accept them for recycling.

I suggest you stop using the mech for now, read the above links others have kindly provided and educate yourself a bit better. Sorry to be frank but you will end up hurting yourself, you're building on a mech without even using an ohm meter and by the sounds of it, a shady / shorted battery. That's dangerous and anyone who was ready to be using this kind of equipment would know that.
Keep yourself safe, learn about your equipment, ohms law and battery safety, there is little to no margin for error with mechs.
Sorry to sound like a whining idiot, but I don't want to see anyone get hurt or become another statistic.

I should've worded my post properly, but I was actually scared for the wellbeing of the individual in question when reading the original post.

Thank you for fixing that part for me :)

Home Depot has a battery recycling program. Just wrap up an old battery in plastic wrap (to prevent an accidental short) and toss it in the recycling bin (I've seen them by the entrance in a few stores).

Not Knowing what is Going On with a Mech Mod is OK. That is why People come here and Ask Questions.

But Not Listening to what people are Warning You about can lead to this...
