I'm ready to make the switch, the problem is I have no idea what to get.

I found this nemesis which looks nice.(I know its a replica)
$29.08 Nemesis Mechanical Mod - stainless steel / with telescopic 510 center pin at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Would I be safe to buy batteries from them?
Are you supposed to put certain batteries in mech mods??

Would I be fine getting this?
Anyone know a good place to get a 3400 mah battery from, and is that the best one to get??

I really don't know anything about mech mods so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Don't buy batteries from them. The quality (and authenticity) of them could be in question. I've read of regular Li-ion's being rebranded as AW IMR's, even down to the red label. Batteries are one thing in vaping you should never pinch pennies with, or buy blindly, so I'd say head over to RTDVapor and get some AW IMR's. They're really the only batteries I use, and RTD is a great and trusted vendor of authentic AW's. It might be a bit more expensive, but I guess you're paying for the assurance that they won't blow up in your face. ;)

What about the SONY VTC4 18650 2000mAh Battery 30Amp

SONY VTC4 18650 2000mAh Battery - Flat Top - 30A

Vapor Joes Daily deals had a link to those this last weekend w/a coupon code that brings them to $7.22 ea.

Look about half way down the page.

I don't do sub ohm and have all the batteries I need so I didn't get any myself.

I would suggest that you read through all of Baditudes blogs if you haven't done so already:

E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

The dude's a vaping wizard and it's appearent from all the time and energy he's put into those blogs that he's dedicated to keeping us all safe from ourselves.

Enjoy and vape on !

I'd go to Mad Vapes and check out their mech mods first, at least you'll get them before you're drawing social security. Then I would go to RTD Vapor and get the batteries, if your going to be using clearomizers or cartomizers, I would recommend the Panasonic Protected NCR18650B 3400mAh. If your going to be getting into RBA/RDA then you'll want to look at the Panasonic NCR18650PD or NCR18650PF or for sub ohm you'll need the high drain Sony or Samsung. And while you're at RTD Vapor pick out a good charger, the Nitecore, Pila or Xtar are the best ones. The one place you DO NOT want to skimp on is the batteries and charger, that's the heart of any mod you get.

I just ordered the nemesis my main concern right now is a battery.

I have an RSST and have rebuilt pro tanks. I want to go in the sub-ohm range with this 28 gauge kanthol I have.
I had to do 12 wraps in a protank just to get it to 1.4ohm or any less and my evic won't even fire up.

I'm really interested in this Sony battery tho, but don't know anything about which batteries are best for mech mods.

I have it in my shopping cart and ready to check out but I can't find much information on it. I read one little post where a guy said that the 30amp would be good for mech mods but want some more opinions.

What would 30 amp do better than a regular protected battery???

So should i get the new sony batteries???

I have the vtc3's which are also 30a but only 1600mah. the higher the amp rating, the safer they are for sub ohm. There are multiple threads on this forum that explain the theories and calculations.i have them favorited on my computer but I don't have it with me now. So In short...I'd say yes, buy em. Haha.
