I have been building Kanger microcoils wth cotton for quite a while, Not sure what kanthal I have but 7-8 wraps give me 1.5 to 1.8, worked well on my old Vision Spinner, decent vapor and throat hit. However I recently upgraded to a MVP 20 watt and hit problems. Works well for the first couple of hits then it doesn't seem to wick correctly or something, throat hit and vapour are minimum. Stick it back on the vision spinner and all is fine which is baffling. I would blame the MVP if I didn't have the same issue with the MVP 2 which I also have.

I recently bought a Protank 3 to see if dual coil fixed the issue and it did, however I wasn't aware that rebuilding the new upgraded Kanger coils is near impossible so I would rather stick with my Protank 2 and get single coil working correctly.

Anyone any ideas? It baffles me this.

This is a longshot -- but what happens if you try the coil with the protank 3 base but the top of the other tank? I'm wondering if the 510 hasn't gotten depressed on the MVP and MVP2, causing a weird connection with voltage jumping around. Or if the insulator on your older coils is flattening out so notable to make a great connection on the MVP. Again, 100% longshot but maybe it's in the ballpark and someone'll catch it on the bump.

The upgraded duel coils in the "enclosed" cup are easy to rebuild and if you want a great vape rebuild them vertical. I did a thread on this here
