Hi Everyone
I'm new to this forum and fairly new to vaping and could use some help. Tried to post this in the MVS forum, but I'm not allowed to yet
So I ordered a battery and I thought it was super airy - couldn't get a hit unless I wrapped my fingers around the connection. Customer service was great - said that the new batteries had slits added for better air flow but the manufacturer may have made them too large....would I like one without slits? And although I asked if anything was wrong with those they said no so I had the 'airy' battery replaced. I got the new battery with no slits and I have to drag SUPER hard to get a hit as well as to get the LED to light up. It will light up at first (sometimes) and then go off in the middle of the drag...sometime flicker a bit. The hole in the center post is really, really tiny - never seen anything so small. Customer Service said to try to blow into the hole and that in some cases where liquid is trapped inside, blowing into the battery may loosen the vacuum switch. Did nothing - actually it did do something - it light up the LED and made a sound like it was being vaped. Thought that seemed odd. Also - seems to work when I put a new carto on better than if one has been one the whole time.

Anyone ever hear of this vacuum switch or have a problem like this - especially with these batteries?

Could use some ideas as I'd rather not get a third battery.

Thanks !

If you dont plan on returning them....

take a small file or a dremmel and make some very small notches on the connector...look at the airy one and see the difference. slowly widen until the draw is good. Remove the jewel cap and make sure that the air gaps are not clogged up. There should be 2 small air gaps to let air into the switch. Blowing on a vacum switch has rarely helped me, I have found that if you take the battery with no carto and drag the battery hard it will free the stuck switch...do this a few times and then try the battery. You could make the hole a little bigger, but you risk hitting a wire or the switch if you go too far in.

All of these are last ditch efforts that may make the battery useful when you are stuck with the battery and need to make it work right, as they will all likely void any warranty that you have or had.

The airy one is much easier...take a carto condom and cut off the bottom of it.cut a hole in one side, not a notch, but a hole. place that "sleeve" over the spot where the carto and battery meet and place the hole over one of the air channels. This will make the battery use only one air channel instead of the two or four on the battery connector.

Hopefully tht helps.

Great info - Thank you so much!

I'm not exactly sure what I did that seems to have helped - but I blew into the led end, adjusted the center post and also made the holes on the side of the connector larger. Tried vaping with the carto not quite screwed in all the way - that seems to have helped a lot. Just kept at it and at some point it seems to have 'fixed' itself. It does seem to need a heavy priming vape, which I'm not used to but I think that's pretty normal.

I am intrigued however, by all these details you've posted.
Couple questions:
What do you mean by jewel cap?
"Make the hole a little bigger" Which hole? The one in the center post?
"2 small air gaps to let air into switch" - is that at the LED end?
"no carto and drag the battery hard it will free the stuck switch" - yikes! something about that scares me
