just got my orchid today and attempted to set it up.

so far, with the current build, its choking. - 2mm coil, 1ohm total - 2ohm single coils 32G, i have the wicks trimmed and sitting in the channels.

should i wick it, with wick in the channels, or just trimmed so the wick barely reaches into the channels? - ive ben googling for the last hour, and i see lots of contradicting builds.

trying to stay in the 1+ ohm range, but still able to hit the 20W of the istick.

any help is appreciated guys/gals, thanks in advance

Defdock...the way I do it I actually have the wick go into the channel. Like you said sitting in the channel...I don't stuff the channels but it goes all the way down the channels. But what I do differently from anyone else is that I realize the Orchid actually has juice control. You don't have to have the chimney tightened all the way down like you would with a Kayfun. Usually I tighten the chimney all the way down and then back off two full turns. This way I get no leaking and get a nice moist vape with no dry hits. Hope this helps.

ok so im getting frustrated - this learning curve is rediculous.

ive tryed laying the cotton ON the channels - cause it to leak when it sat on its side while i was charging my istick...

ive tried cutting the cotton so it "rounds off" with the chimney in place, keeping a small tail LAYING in the wick channel - 2 or 3 good puffs then it starts smoking the wick

any one have pics of their working setup? unjuiced before and after pics?

I just filled mine so I can't take a picture... I have concave shears I use to cut the cotton just outside of the circle. I then wet the wick and using a small screw driver coax the end into the channel. It's not really in the channel, just pushed towards it. Then when putting the chimney on I try to ensure that the cotton stays there.

But to be honest, I've loved my Orchids. The V2 was the best as far as not leaking. After the V4 I'm considering getting a Kayfun V4, it would solve many issues, like allowing me to take a picture of my build right now even if it were full of juice.

from what i hear - the KF4 chimney threads onto the orchid base, with from "what they say" has no leaks either. ---definatly peaks my interest

i tried laying cotton on the channels , maybe i didnt use enough. i will atempt again tonight - im tired of filling this thing over and over just to dump it and wipe it and blah blah.

the things ya gotta do to get that good vape :p
