Try to tap the center post from the batterry side towards the atty side a little bit sounds like it dropped down and lost contact

Good post, thanks!

so I tired this and it appears to me like I'm getting more vapor.

Its been not as good as when i 1st got it for quite some time.

What else should I do?

Bang it harder from that side?
I don't want to break it.

I don't think its running as hot as its supposed to anymore.

EDIT: will pics of the adapter help? I can take pics.
EDIT #2: I submitted a ticket. But I don't have a backup so I can't send it in.
I think I'm screwed currently. We'll see what happens

Actually... this is another one of the things I discovered that I liked about the protege. You have a small amount of play with the draw by adjusting the adaptor.

Granted, it's not perfect, but it works for me.

To start, tap the center post toward the battery end.

Then, screw in an atty to where it is almost fully closing the gap between the atty and adaptor (if you like a tighter draw), or you could back it out a bit to open up the airflow.

Now, tap the post from the battery end until it makes contact (a couple of attempts are sometimes required).

To test, simply screw the adaptor back onto the battery holder, and pop it off if you aren't getting vapor, tap from the battery side and repeat until you get the setting you want).

I normally redo this procedure with every cleaning or when I get a 510 atty with a different draw than the previous one.

You can also try to put some noalox on all threads and atty connection and contacts, it will keeps all threads working great and also conducts better. Also when you screw the atty on just screw it till it makes contact, dont give it that extra 1/4 turn as over time it does push the post down.

I use noalox and I never overtighten.

I'm hoping PS will send me an adapter b/c I'm still under warranty.

By the way...own a back up guys!
(I was waiting for puresmokers next 3.7v divice to come out for a few months and was going to get that. Its finally on its way soon! Hopefully I can get this thing up and running so I can get the v1.1 as my backup when it comes out instead of getting something else I'm not as interested in)

Thanks RedRhino!

New_World,

The most likely way I think it could be an adapter problem, is if the center post is just too short (not connecting with the switch and atty posts at the same time). If that's the case, you should try adjusting it so the gap between the atty and adaptor is very small. If that's the only position you can vape from, then it could definitely be the adapter.

And I agree, I own a back-up. But my wife took that one, so I ordered a V1.1.

I simply never want to be in a position where I don't have a working Protege.

its just a little better.
Its still not producing a reasonable amount vapor.

not a stupid question b/c I've seen it happen to many people on the forums.
yeah, I've got like 10 batts plus more coming.
So I've eliminated that.

I bump the adapter down towards the atty and it helps some.
its not in there right or sumthin.

How do you check your attys adapter with a MultiMeter?
I would, but I don't know how. (noob) heh

I guess what Dkrom68 said as far as the MultiMeter is concerned....

Not a noob but really never used one....I just vape man.... All this MultiMeter, Batteries knowledge and the rest of the crap is just not for me.....Been vaping for almost a year....And i refuse to learn all this crap as it is completely useless to me.....I hope i don't offend anyone out there, cause that is not my intention....But my feelings toward vaping are very simple....To me is just like driving a car put the key in and go.....Same goes for vaping, put a fresh batt in, make sure the atty is good, and I'm good to go.....If one PV fails i got back ups....That's it....:):):)

LOL Rhino I have developed a damn hobby out of this and there alot of stuff there to learn but its all pretty standard and simple for the most part I make alot of juices and thats my real passion.

Yep i have noticed that a lot of members on these forums, actually make a hobby out of this thing....Which i personally think is GREAT ....Just not for me though :)....As far as JUICE goes, what do you vape PG or VG????? I only vape ECOpure since i have real bad allergy's to PG :(....

I make all my own for the most part and am stricly a VG person Rhino. I make my own version of the Ecopure thats as close to it as can be but there is a tiny bit of PG in it for the flavoring and to give it a little more throat hit.

Hey new world are you using a 510 adapter on your cause if you are i have 2 extras lying around and would be willing to let you use it till you get yours fixed.
