Go here eJuice Recipe Calculator and punch in your numbers and it will tell you. Roughly we can look at like this a 1:1 Mix will cut 48 to 24, a 2:1 mix cuts it down to 12.

Judging by your numbers I would think your somewhere around 6mg. You say you used 40 drops of 48 cut with 80 drops of vg or a 2:1 cut right there which puts it at 12mg, add in the 20 drops of flavor and you cut it further to around 6mg is my best guess without being there.

I took the time to punch in some numbers they are not exact since I had to work backwards with no idea the flavor % you used. This is what it came out with:

ejuice Recipe Calculator
User Input
Nicotine Base 48 mg/ml
Target Nicotine Level 6 mg/ml
Amount to Create 6 ml
Water Added (optional) 0 %
Flavor Percent 20%

Recipe
ingredient ml drops* % of total
PG or VG with nicotine 0.5 ml 16 drops 12.5%
PG or VG (no nicotine) 2.7 ml 80 drops 67.5%
Water 0.0 ml 0 drops 0.0%
Flavoring(s) 0.8 ml 24 drops 20.0%

*Drops are an estimation. 20 drops of water from a dropper equals approximately 1ml.

I think your wrong on the math there. If she has 48mg juice if she cuts it 1:1 with just plain VG it knocks it to 24mg. She cut it harder than that though with a ration of 2 parts VG to 1 part VG w/nic which really dilutes it even deeper to 12mg. She then cut it with some flavor around 1:1 again further reducing it to 6mg or so.

I could be wrong but that's how I am reading it. Either way I think we are both within a few mg of the actual total. I would love to hear from someone who thinks they have the absolute answer on this. There is another E-Juice calculator on the site that may make it easier to figure out her actual strength. Looking over your answer I can see where your coming from I just don't think it's totally correct, wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though.

She cut it harder than that though with a ration of 2 parts VG to 1 part VG w/nic which really dilutes it even deeper to 12mg.1st error, it was a 1:3 cut total not 1:4 as you have done= 16mg She then cut it with some flavor around 1:1 again further reducing it to 6mg or so. No, she just added 20 drops to a mixture that now has 140 drops. That is 120:140 or 6:7 or about 86% X 16mg = 13.7mg

I could be wrong but that's how I am reading it. Either way I think we are both within a few mg of the actual total. No, I'd say an error of 13.7 to 6 is 228%. If I drank 13.7 beers in the time I would normally drink 6 I would be passed out after pucking my guts out. Just saying. Its simple algebra but you must plug in the right numbers.

OK understood, and like I said it was very possible I could be wrong. Haven't used algebra in years, and for me that's one of those things that you have to use it or lose it type deal. Glad to see where I was wrong at as well and hopefully help the next person who looks. I will go take a few laps around the block or something as punishment.
