Somebody give me some tips cus no matter what I do I cannot stand these flavors. I got the lil small bottles I think they are 10 ml. (this is concentrate)

I have tried lots of flavor 20% and a little as low as 10% and they are just nasty to me. Waffle smells really good but don't taste good to me. French Vanilla, well to be honest, that don't even smell good, smells like perfume... is that why you need to steep them with the cap off to get rid of the perfume scent?

These came from The Flavor Apprentice. - If this is the best the apprentice can do somebody tell him to learn a bit more or go find the master to do it right. <grin>

John,

Here's a link to the DIY forums:

DIY e-liquid

I haven't tried those flavorings yet so I can't offer you any help. But I've ordered about 100 flavorings from 4 diff companies and it's rare to like them all. I like maybe 20 of them and love 8 or so. I've found perfumey scents in certain flavors from each of the companies, cept for Vapor Renu.
I always try to buy the smallest, cheapest samples for the flavorings. That way you don't waste too much money! From Perfumer's Apprentice, I have loved her : Toasted Marshmallow, Plum, Cola, Bavarian Cream, Black Cherry, Absinthe. I always add her 'Sweetener' to my juices too. Like 3 drops per 6 ml of juice.

The same thing happens with pre-made juice too though! Some you love and some you hate:)

Backwoods Brew's Waffle flavor is fantastic. Its waffles and syrup, and I tried some the day I got it and blew me away. I let my buddy who smokes try it who loves waffles, and he said he might quit smoking because of that particular juice. I was then very excited when I saw someone say that when steeped for a few weeks, their is no comparison in the flavor - I can't wait too see how good this tastes in a few weeks.

BWB also does a very nice Vanilla Bean, but takes about a month for the flavor to truly pop, and then oh my is it the best vanilla I've ever tried. No chemical taste or artificial sweetness - just pure goodness.

Check em out if you want, you can get 0 nic and make your own strength or use them to add flavor to something else. The Vanilla Bean is a great flavor to add to tobacco and other fruit flavors.

I do not know those flavors, so your concentrations may be right, but I use a vanilla bean ice cream and 7% is VERY strong. (But I like it that way) most use it at 5%.

Some of my other flavors I mix at 15% though, so that could be right.

I've found through my limited experience, if it smells perfumey, steeping won't help. It does help the flavors blend and sometimes they get a bit stronger tasting, but that perfume flavor doesn't leave, at least for me. YMMV.

I agree Legio...BWB's waffle is awesome.

I know the OP is trying to DIY a nice waffle, and I can sympathize...I tried my hand at DIY'ing, especially to get a good waffle, and it was a no go. For all that was spent on flavorings and stuff to DIY, I wish I would have just gotten the BWB waffle right off the bat.

I mix the waffle (TFA) at 10% and add about 6 drops of TFA ripe banana to a 6ml bottle. I vape very few single flavor juices though. Most of the yummy juices are a combination of several flavors. When you steep a flavor do not do it with the cap off.. all that does is absorb water and oxidize/weeken your juice. Let it steep with the lid on (it's not like a bottle of wine)for a week or so. This can change the flavor quite a bit, mellows it out. Kinda like spagetti sauce tastes much better the 2nd and 3rd day. Don't get discouraged you will find the right mix for you, it just takes a bit of experimenting and most of all patience............To me DIYis bit like ecigs.. not always as easy or convenient as cigs but better in the long run.
