Im planning on using 28g Kanthal when I use vapers tool box on android it says to wrap it 15/14 times does that mean on both coils wrap them that much or divide it in half like 7 wraps on each? Thanks Screenshot_2014-08-13-10-21-19.jpgScreenshot_2014-08-13-10-21-19.jpgScreenshot_2014-08-13-10-21-23.jpg

using 28g to try to hit 1.7 ohm with dual coil is going to be a lot of coil... Yes, it means 14/15 for EACH coil... Since it's dual coil, you'll need each coil to be 3.4 ohm... So that once they are in parallel you'll get your 1.7... What are you driving it with? You'll need a lot of power to drive that much wire... Otherwise it'll take a VERY long time to heat up...

If you're shooting for around 1.7 ohm you'd be much better off going to a smaller wire... 32awg maybe? Just depends on what you're trying to do exactly...

Welcome to ECF! Good question! I suspect that you will build a dual-coil parallel build. In that case, I believe that you should make each coil as 15/14, as when connected in parallel, the total resistance will be divided by two (each one of those 14/15 coils would we about 3.4 ohms, but together would be about 1.7 ohms.

rusirius is right! That is going to be a LOT of coil to hit 1.7 with 28g on a parallel build... I would suggest trying it with a single coil first... I've had single coils hit every bit as hard as some of my dual coil builds...

Very good point! I can build a single micro coil wicked with cotton that can hit way harder than a mediocre dual coil with silica... In my opinion, unless you're going sub-ohm you really just don't need more than one coil...

Heck of a lot easier to hit 1.7 ohms with a single coil, that's for sure!!

Hey guys thanks for the reply and im planning on using my vamo v5 variable voltage with a trident clone so with that said what would be the ideal ohms I would want it to hit and what type of coil meaning size I want to try cloud chasing so thanks for the help

From the specifications I pulled off the web -- 5 amp limit. Run that through your calculator to determine the lowest ohm coil you can run off a fully charged battery.

Hey I just searched this up Also, "for the Vamo.. Yes, it CAN have a 5amp limit.. but thats only when you stack 18350s. In 18650 mode, I believe its a 2 or 2.5amp limit." So if I want the best clouds can somone tell me if its between just one micro coil or two and what size and also best ohm target for my vamo and what would be the best ideal voltage for the ohms you guys recommend sorry if its to much to ask for but would really appreciate the help

you will have a really hard time cloud chasing with a vamo..... kinda like drag racing with a go cart....
