hey gang its been a while...a long while...hoping you can help.
i need a new mod and i've been out of the "need to buy anything new" market for several years now and haven't been paying attention to whats out there. my local vape shops, while plentiful, have awful product, imo, and are geared more toward sub ohm vaping, which i don't care for.

this is what i'm looking for...
* non-box. regulated, pen style with removable 18650 battery (bonus if it has accessories to allow it take the smaller 18350 and the size between it, don't even remember what is was, like the provaris did). i'm tootle-puffing with single coils so don't need a lot of power but would like it variable. roughly 22mm in diameter. looking for something reliable and uncomplicated. no fancy screens and such. if you remember the provari v2/2.5 thats what i'm looking for.

I would very much appreciate any assistance,
thanks!

Ehpro mod 101. Fires up to 50 watts. Uses a single 18350, 18500, or 18650. Single button menu operation. 510 connection will handle up to 22 mm atomizers.

Yeah, this sounds like your best bet if you want a modern, tubular mod.

I could not find any US vendors that still sell it, though.

    Here's a vid...

One downside I found from another forum thread is that after a certain time of not using it (not sure how much time), it turns itself off and you have to click 5 times to turn it back on. Then, when you turn it back on, you have to tell it whether the coil is a new coil or the same coil as the last time it was used. But not sure if that is only in temp control mode or not.

In reality, you don't have many options anyway.

I hear ya there. Not all subhom vapers are cloud-chuckers, but I wish my area had a vape shop that catered to the "tootle puffer", but then it probably would not stay open for long. 90% of the vapers I see in my area are chucking clouds. Not many mature folks who want to just vape and relax.

You gotta cater to the cloud chucker to turn a profit.

Power mode here, and I never get the new/old thing. I can't say whether that's typical, or dumb luck (me), but a non issue here.

If not for the auto-off, this mod would be in constant use with me. I still like it a LOT, but that auto-off muddies my water a bit.

I don't know what they're going for these days, if at all, but they were an absolute steal at one point (some years back). I'd recommend it to anyone without a moment's hesitation. It's an excellent mod, all things considered (and IMO).

Modern 18350 batteries are unreliable. Better get a reliable small mod with 21700 batteries in a very tube way. You need a little modernizing although you might not feel like it. Two mods to recommend, Vaporesso Armour Pro and Wismec Sinuous P80. Forget about tube mods, thing from the past.

I find the 18350 batts to be just fine if one wants the small mode in a tube device. AND, I find tube mods to be absolutely a marvelous vape choice if one does NOT want a box mod. I disagree that they are a "thing from the past". They are as viable as they ever were. (Just ask any Provarinati ;) )

Depending on your budget, @imind, you might want to look at the Dani tube mods. They are expensive and extraordinary.

If not, I agree with the previous posters that the EHpro 101 mod might suit your needs. You might also luck out and find a used Provi in great condition.

Good luck, and if you like, let us know what you decide! :)

There are likely quite a few ProVari 2.5 out there and a number of vapers who don't use them. Now that the classifieds are opened up you can make a "want to buy" thread to see what's available. A mini with an extension tube and extended end cap would fit 18350 and 18650 batteries, button top only though. Good luck!

Kat, I love you, but read what Mooch said in his last recommended batteries. "No 18350 batteries are reccomended for use". The old Keepcell or Vapcell are now reduced to 9A.

I've never used anything but 18650s, but even so I vape at about 3.5 amps. I'm pretty sure Kat does too, and maybe one or two other folks on the planet. ;)

You'll find this "entertaining", but I use 18650s in my Armour Pro too. Lasts me plenty long time.:vapor:

I use 18350s here and there with no problem. Not everyone is a sub-ohm vaper vaping at 15,000 gigawatts. ;) with a 1.2 ohm coil, I can get anywhere from 70-120 puffs off one 18350. Not a lot, but then it is an 18350. The reset of the time I vape on a single 18650 mod and that will last me many hours chain vaping at 12-15W on a regulated mod.

I don't need a mod that takes a battery the size of an arm. lol

Mooch does a lot of good work, but he caters to a crowd that I think the OP does not belong to...I think. Of course I don't know for sure because the OP hasn't said a word since his OP.

The ProVari 2.5 has an amp limit of 3.5 I believe, leaving plenty of headroom. I don't get past two amps myself.

One has to consider the style of vaping when looking at battery capabilities. I've been using 10 amp batteries for years for MTL lower wattage vaping.

I have 2/'2.5 laying around from a lot I have but it sounds like you Do want something new for me the button top battery is the biggest issue.

I have an Ephro 101 tube and it's fine, but it's nothing like the build quality and just well put togetherness of a provari. Maybe you want a P3? Flat tops are easier,

For something on the little odd but ABSOLUTELY loveable side I might recommend the Tesla Punk 86w TUBE mod. It feels GREAT in the hand, it is a tube (albeit a rather fat one) and it takes 18650s and should do what you want.)

One of my ALL time favorite mods. Strange looking beast, but in the BEST way. It is infinity times better than the Ephro 101 honeslly.

    th

    Good luck deciding.

There are several posts that I could quote here, but the dogs don't know or care about DST and their stomachs are telling them it is almost 9PM and the clock on the wall is telling me it's only almost 8PM. Anyway, all I've got to say here is that a 10 amp battery (which my 350's are rated for) is way more than good enough for me and my vaping style. I only ask for 2ish amps at the most from any battery that I use, whether it's a 350, 500, or 650.

Yes the diameter is huge, I have come to accept its loveable bullet shape. I'm not buyig a 28 mm tank,.

Still think it is a way better VAPE in quality than the Ephro I was not at all impressed. It's probably the best option I guess. I found the machining to be rahter poor (personally_) and the 22 mm version (whcih I have) IDK, it was just the suck for me.

I suppose it's your best option. It's not BAD exactly but it is super MEH.

Otherwise, you go to dicodes. If you can afford that, it is your best bet they make some killer tubes....at povety inducing prices.
