Need opinions! Snow Wolf 200W Plus Vs Smok Alien Kit.

Have both, prefer the alien. It feels much better in my hand and works flawlessly.

I think OP is talking about the _new_ Snowwolf 200W Plus (which goes up to 235W apparently).

I just bought one over the Alien, but therefore have nothing to add about its longevity.

Does TC on all metals, and is quite a handsome device.

I hope I don't regret the purchase, but I have a 1 year warranty on the thing.

Alien has the runs on the board, but everyone seems to hate the old Snowwolf, however, if I remember correctly, Smok was a terrible brand in 2015... in 2016 they really scored some runs. Perhaps the new Snowwolf will have a similar change of reputation?

The reputation of companies, and even divisions within companies, will vary over time. It seems to occur way faster in vape gear than other goods, maybe because they feel the need to have a new model out the door at a low price every week. At least cars go through yearly cycles, so their reputations for build and reliability takes longer to swing. Smok was down, now it's up. Sigelei has taken a beating. P4Y is another that was well respected with their earlier releases but ran into problems with more recent offerings. So the past track record does not guarantee future performance.

I have an Alien and am pleasantly surprised by how much I actually like it. The Snowwolf may very well turn out to be an excellent performer.

I am another with the alien... have had it for almost 3 months and no issues at all with it. I even finally updated it from 1.2.1 to 1.2.11 without any problems. The only paint issues I have had were from my own clumsiness.

Never owned the original snow wolf but plenty of people I've talked to liked them. Asmodus didn't lie about the power rating, the TC was bad but most devices were at the time. Smok was an AWFUL brand in 2015, they redeemed themselves with the TFV4 and pretty much made solid devices after that. Smok is one of my favorite brands, they're up there with Evolv now.
