need some help with mixing...

hi - i am thinking about buying some TW 36mg juice and then using some PG to dilute it with - my question is if i wanted to make an 18mg strength juice should i then dilute the 36mg with PG 1 for 1? (i.e. i drop of TW to 1 drop of GC?)

Also if the juice is pre-flavoured will the flavour then become to weak if i dilute it? is that why they then sell unflavoured juices instead - so you can then add your own flavouring to taste later?? if so would that then be the better option?

Probably should be on the DIY e-liquid thread... but in any event, you are correct-to cut your liquid in half you would just mix it at a 1:1 ratio. So an equal amount of eliquid to an equal amount of cutting agent (PG or VG)will yield you 18mg strength liquid....Now as far as flavor-a preflavored eliquid will get diluted somewhat if you were to cut it with your PG. If you want to flavor your own liquid by using unflavored nic juice and a flavoring (such as Loranns), you will have to compensate for that depending on the amount of flavor you wish to have.

or there is a member on this site that goes by Scubabatdan that has a great excel spreadsheet calculator for DIY mixing...Just remember when you make your own juice to start out in small batches so you dont waste expensive eliquid.

Darth pretty much covered it. Yes, cutting a preflavored liquid by 1/2 will definitely effect flavor. Yes, you can buy unflavored nic juice and cut it, and then flavor it yourself. If you really want to start mixing, you might want to get some VG, as well as PG. As far as the better option. It's really whatever you feel more comfortable with. You can actually buy extra flavor juices from some vendors which are made to be cut down. For example, if you get a 48mg double flavor juice. You can cut it in half with VG, or PG, and the flavor will still be good, and the nic would then be 24mg. Or cut it a bit less for stronger nic and some extra flavor.

Get the mixing calculator here. It's a quick D/L and opens in excel. Pretty easy to use. Dan has the link to the most recent version in his sig, but even the old version 3 is awesome.
You can get a complete mixing kit, or assorted mixing accessories from either diyflavorshack , or from the One Stop DIY Shop. With One stop DIY shop, you will have your supplies in 3 days. Dawn at the flavor shack takes longer because she's so busy mixing all her delicious juice.
