I have always been a die hard KR8 lover. The ease of use of the cartomizers is simple and they produce more than enough vapor. They have always been billed as "disposable" but I have several that have been in use for well over 6 months. I have been studying and reading a lot lately because I am discerning where I am going next. I'm really loving the design of the Inferno but I have no idea about the lifespan of atomizers. I hear various people on the forums talking about burning through one or more atomizers a week. This just isn't cost-effective in my eyes if that's the case.
Also, since I am discussing upgrade possibilities, I am considering a 5V mod ((I know the Inferno is not a 5V mod) but again I am under of atomizers and after several hours of reading and watching reviews I really think I want to go with a tank system. I am hoping some of the vets around can give me some info. Again I'm really wanting to know about the atomizers more than anything else because I honestly think that will be my highest priority in deciding what to purchase next.

I've used about every type of atomizer and cartomizer and in general - I've gotten the best use and longevity from Joye atomizers. Their build with the mesh base keeps them from drying out at fast as some others and dry attys die. I have 510 attys that are over a year and a half still going and eGo atomizers that are still going at 6-8 months. These are the regular resistance attys - 2.1-2.3/2.4 ohms. Low Resistance LR attys are a different story. The longest I've had one last was an LR 306 cisco atty and yet I've had a cisco recently and others, including joye LRs that went out in a day or two. I've never lost a 901 or 801 atty but I've primarily vaped 510s.

IF you stay in the normal resistance range for any atty at the 3.7volt range then you should get good longevity. For higher volt devices, you really have to watch what atomizers you use. For example, you might be able to use a 3 ohm atty at 5 volts but anything lower than that is asking for trouble - good taste and good vapor for a while :) ... but not longevity. At 6+ volts you really have to know what you're doing - 4.5-5.2 ohms attys are fairly safe.

Use this chart and I recommend staying below @8.5 watts if attys are your concern.
