I vape 30mg and it's been great got me off the analogs 2 months ago. Now I seem to be getting a slight headache, and a little tightness in my chest. I vape alot. I don't think I'm drinking enough water either which I know is important. I was thinkin of tryin either 26mg or 24mg and keep my 30mg for first thing in the morning and when I am out drinking. I will increase my water intake alot too. So what do you guys think? What would I do without you guys?

As I was an ultra light smoker, I found 24mg to be WAY too strong! Because of the severity of the headaches and insomnia I was getting, I assumed that I had to bump down to 12mg and 18 for the strong cravings.

After trying the 12 and the 18, I found myself struggling with cravings more often. Eventually I had to order some 24mg for when I was out at work and only had 5 - 10 minutes to vape, or was drinking/really craving a smoke.

So, it seems to follow that the decrease in Nic level really is noticeable from 24 to 18 , from 18 to 12, etc. I now use a wide variety of nic levels and I've found that this works best for me. I always carry some 24mg with me, and usually a 12 and an 18. I find that I can match my Nic levels to the situation better this way while still fighting off cravings.

A typical rotation would be 24mg at work with limited time to vape, really need to have a satisfying quick vape here. At home I will usually vape 18mg if it isn't too late and it isn't a flavor that is impossible to put down (i.e. bubble gum, hopscotch, forest fruit). If i really am going to be vaping a lot, I've been vaping a lot prior to that point or it's getting close to bed time. I'll usually pop in a 12 or 6 mg juice. At these points I feel my craving is more vaping related than a need to replicate analogs and the lower nicotine has all but eliminated my headaches and insomnia.

You might want to order your favorite flavors or close flavors in 0 nic and start reducing the nic level over a time period by mixing the 0 nic flavor in with the high nic. This way you won't lose any of the flavor (except for what nicotine imparts). For instance we have 30 mg American Spirit and 0 mg. Today I mixed some of the 0 mg nic AS in with DH's 24 mg Cuban to bring it down to about 18. You can go as slow or fast with the reduction as you want.

I originally got some 0 nic to let some of my non smoking friends, who miss smoking terribly, to use in a PV, and then it dawned on me that this would be a good way to lower our nic levels, over time, without suffering and harsh withdrawal.

Now this is gonna seem weird but my DH, who is 75, after quitting analogs, and having one occasionally but virtually only vaping, has started to get drastic reduction of pulse rate when he consumes nicotine. He's been off of analogs over 6 months and this started happening a couple of months ago. I'm talking ..... sometimes his pulse rate drops into the mid 40's if he's relaxing in his recliner. The onset is very abrupt and it doesn't always happen.

He's under the care of heart doctors for a non-malignant, golf ball sized tumor in a heart chamber that doesn't seem to affect him or activities. He has an appointment Monday so he's going to discuss this with them. This never happened when he was smoking 1-2 pad. BTW... at 75 he's still working full time, drives 3.5 hours to and from one clinic one day a week and flies out of town for three days work a week. His one other day is out of town but relatively close. If he was suffering the affects of his age and/or tumor he couldn't keep up a schedule like this.

At any rate he wants to get his nicotine level down to 0 in the next month or so. He doesn't want to lose the throat hit so we will be working on retaining that.

I jumped all over the place and I've found I really need a wide variety. I too was getting headaches and insomnia (albeit at 24mg) and had to step down my nic levels. But I learned the 6mg per step base options available from fsusa really is noticeable as the 18mg i was using wasn't doing the job in certain situations.

I now use 24mg for work and times when I have limited chances to vape.

18mg is my steady vape. If I'm out running errands and can vape away in the car, or if I'm just doing stuff around the house this is usually my level. It doesn't give me the headaches and stoned feeling I got at 24 if I vaped it too much, but it will fight off my cravings if I am in a situation where I can vape enough.

12mg - 6mg - This is my vape when it's night time. Plain and simple. I usually find myself in front of the computer for an hour or so at night before bed and I realized that I will just sit and vape the whole time. With 12mg - 6 mg I never get headaches and I am sleeping much better than I was even while vaping at 18mg.

So it's all personal, but if it's feasible I would say get a few different nic levels as it really allows you to tailor your nic level to your day and to specific situations. This allows you to avoid the adverse effects like headaches and insomnia as well as the cravings that you might feel at certain points when moving down the nic ladder.

I know that David said they would custom blend nic levels. I'm not sure if it's the nic or not enough water. It's been real cold the past few days and I just haven't been that thirsty. My best friends mom passed away suddenly Monday maybe the added stress. Still a good excuse to order more juice. Been wanting to try some fruit flavors. I got some samples in 24mg I'll try them and see if it helps and go drink some water

I get 18mg large bottles and (lots) of samplers at the 24. So when I need a little more dosage I just go to my samplers. Works well and is easy and lets me try new flavors. The only part that sucked once was when I ran out of samplers and was stuck on my first order of...12mg. Man I vaped 12mg non-stop until my next order landed just in time!

I would do both. Drink more water, and order some 24mg-26mg. liquid. I started with my Pure Cig Menthol (my main vape) at 24mg, but now I order it in big bottles at either 18mg or 21mg I can't really say that I "crave" the higher nicotine in in. (I have other juices at 24mg.)

Definitely try to drink more water. I don't think you'll notice a big difference by decreasing the nic. I used to smoke light cigs. and when I started vaping, I used 18 mg. Within a few months, it was too much for me. I was getting headaches and had trouble sleeping. Now I use 12 mg. most of the time, but switch to 6 mg. late at night.

When TH is really important to you like it is me, whats a fella to do to get his nic level down? Each time I go down below 18mg the lack of TH drives me right back up. Also some flavors do have better TH at lower levels than others but I find that my faves loose TH when nic levels go down. Any suggestions?

I don't care very much about TH; in fact I don't like it for some odd reason. Sorry I can't help!

Smoked for 40+ years, so I started out at 36mg and I'm now at 24-30. Since 36mg didn't bother me at all, I haven't been pressured to back off.
My main goal was to QUIT smoking and I did that on vape day 2. So I am backing off on the nic, and when it happens it happens. As long as I maintain my goal of not smoking, all the rest takes a back seat.
I wish you all the best of luck. You will do it Kellie. Ur part of the Buzz army, so there isn't anything that can stop you now. You have back-up. :thumb:

Sorry to hear about your losses kellie. Stress will always give me a headache among other aches. When I first started vaping, I vaped 36mg and now I'm down to 18mg. I didn't intend for this to happened but it did naturally with a few tell-tale signs that made me do it. Mostly an upset stomach. I still have a bottle of 36 for those days that don't go perfect. At 18mg, I can vape as much as I want without a nic OD.
