This depends on your personal preferences and taste buds IMO.

Yep! I 100% agree with you. :)

That's why I said the following in the same pargaraph about OSDIY Flavors & Blends and Kim's recommendation for them:

All recommendations anyone gives are only suggestions, too. Your own tastes will tell you whether more or less suits you.

i bought a 6ml syringe and a 60ml syringe so that i can accurately measure my mixes.
i found this cute little calculator YAEC - Yet another eLiquid calculator seems perfect for me, hope its accurate.
Capella – 15%-20%
Flavour Art – 10%
all others start at 10%
0.01g scale = far more accurate than any syringe

welcome to the way of the weigh

found this web site with recommended percentages. What Flavour Percentage Should I Use? - Vapable - E Cigarettes, E Liquids and Accessories
Capella – 15%-20%
Flavour Art – 10%
all others start at 10%

ill just start at 10% for now since im sub ohm vaping @ 31.5w

IMO, those are pretty high to be recommended, across-the-board percentages for each brand. Many flavorings (within a brand and from brand to brand)...can vary greatly in how strong they are. So that's definitely going to affect how much you'd actually use in a recipe.

The One Stop Flavors and One Stop Blends from OSDIY shop are the only flavorings I know I can use from about 8-12%. That's because all the individual flavorings it took to make each of them...are already it when I buy it. So the 8-12% that I use, is the total flavoring % in the eliquids I make with each 1 of them.

But individual flavorings % from other manufacturers I've used so far (TFA, CAP, FA, FW, INA) in recipes...have varied from about .5% - 15%. Just 1 recipe I make has a flavoring that's used at that highest 15%, too. Most are used in the 2%-9% range.

I'd recommend you start at much much lower % than those you found on that website, and slowly work your way up, if necessary, to find what suits your own tastes for each individual flavoring. You can always ADD more flavoring to a recipe you're making, but you sure can't take it back out!

why do people always say this? It might be if you vaped it at 100mg.

Popular TPA flavors cost $4/30ml or 13.33c per ml. Nicotine costs $50/L or 5c per ml. Most people use a far higher percentage of flavoring in their juice than they do nic. A 100ML juice recipe at 3mg would have 15c of nicotine. If you are using 20% flavoring like many recipes call for there would be $2.67 worth of flavoring in that 100ML recipe.
Let me rephrase my erroneous reply that I probably made right before falling asleep after a long night of work:

I do not nic up a test/sample liquid until I am ready to try and see how it reacts/changes with nicotine. If I have to adjust the recipe (or it is only worthy to go down the drain) I will also have to adjust the nicotine level (or kiss that nic goodbye). I figure, why waste a semi-expensive part of the process that doesn't need to be included until later on in the process?
