Is this a good pv? 510 ready. What can be said about this? I know NOTHING about anything other than the 510.
Need thoughts on Puresmoker Protege

I got one when they originally came out. I had constant issues with the switch, then they came out with a new switch and it was not a big improvement. Puresmoker is a good company, but the Protege was a flop. IMO

They did have some problems with the switch at first but with the upgrade all problems have been solved. I have the Protege, the ICON and the V3 and as far as I'm concerned these are the best PV's out there. They are all mechanical and have absolutley no issues to speak of.

I agree, completely, with STILLSMOK9. I have a protege that was sent to me when I was a mod, here, and it's had consistent issues with the switch. It works but it's pretty dodgy and, from time to time, takes more than a little coaxing to get to work.
I also had to take it apart and put a thin bit of plastic between the cap on the switch and the tactile button in order for the switch to work at all. The replacements are also dodgy...very hit and miss.
The Icon is a decent mod but with the way it's made, it pushes in the bottom of the battery after a short amount of use and this can pose problems with the switch making proper contact. The switch also gets loose very easily and is very sensitive to the lock knob not being in the fully open position. It's a far sight better than the protege but it still has its issues.
I have no experience with the v3 so I can't talk about that one but the PS mods I've used aren't perfect. GOOD but not perfect.

I didn't think they sold the Protege anymore? I used one for a while, it's a decent device. My wife had switch problems on my her Protege. For whatever reason i had no problems on mine.
I've also owned a Prodigy V3 by PureSmoker, which i would recommend over the Protege. I've heard of people denting the battery with the switch, but that never happened to me. They must have been mashing that button pretty hard.
