Looking for suggestions-

Just came off a Vamo v5 and while I LOVED that it was a major improvement over the twist batteries, it was a bummer that the buttons all mashed in, the threads stripped out, and the unit died... at 5 months of use.

I want to move on to the next best thing, but cannot afford the provari just yet. I've heard whispers of the lavatube, MVP, etc.. but don't know what from what.. I just want reliability.. no knockoffs or clones, and prefer something that will allow me to continue using my two batteries (one 18350 and a 185xx (cant read it anymore, it's worn)

What do y'all suggest? $99 or less would be preferred.

Let me suggest you squeeze out another $20 for an itaste 134 or mini and a pair of 18650 batteries. I had a v5 that lasted all of 45 minutes. I realized I really wanted more reliability. The 134 fit the bill and my budget. It has been knocked off my end table half a dozen times and several times off the kitchen counter without a scratch. It's a bit big and heavy but I think you should consider it. I still use my spinners for out and about. :2c::)

There's a lot of good choices available out the at the price point you are looking at...from a price/performance standpoint, there's not much that can top the MVP2, IMHO....if you like box style mods...I have 2 of them, and while I have several other regulated mods, one of the MVP's is always in my pocket when I go out and about...

The MVP is surprisingly durable for a disposable mod while there are exceptions on both sides you can gestimate getting a years use from it. I've read ppl that have one last 2 yrs and 3 months. Though I suspect one was abused and the other hardly used. You mentioned a provari, if that's your goal I would get the MVP for its price and save. Also check out their clearance I've seen the non colored for 130 and most who have bought a blemish never find the blem.

The only thing I can think of is ZMax V5 telescoping by Siegeli or the Innokin SVD or take the others advice..get MVP 2.0...save up for the Provari 2.5 or 3.0...

They make alternate 18350 and 18500 tubes for the various Smok vv/vw devices. Personally I have the SID and a 18350 tube. Use my 18650 batteries at home, put in the small one if I want to carry something small or my fibromyalgia is bad and weight becomes an issue. It's latest me 6 months as has my Vamo V5, although I don't use anything but 18650 in it. The aluminum Smok and 18350 combo is so much lighter.

Honestly, pretty much all the $40-$60 vv/vw devices are about the same. Some have 1 button vs 3, different materials means some are sturdier, some lighter and need more care etc. The MVP V2.0 isn't bad, I have one. Its limited in its range compared to other similar devices, I have problems with comfort since I find the button uncomfortable to press, its a box vs a dildo shape (guess this is good or bad ;)) so like all the others it has good and bad points.

Buy the one from a vendor you like at a price you can afford and you should be good.

OP, 2 things you should know about your MVP - yes it is very popular, but it has a built-in limited lifespan (very difficult to replace the battery, not intended to be replaced), and you won't be able to use your current batteries.

SVD would fit your bill perfectly...under $99, reliable in my experience, durable (dropped mine several times, no damage whatsoever), and telescoping, so you can fit any battery size between 18350-18650 (including 18500, like yours). Easy to use, comes with an instruction manual as do all Innokin products. It makes a lot of people fairly new to mods happy...to be fair though, so does the MVP.

I would say MVP2 or VTR if you like it more sturdy and heavy. (VTR uses 18650)

Also another thing to note, do not stack batteries. Most accidents happen with stacked batteries.
Also if the battery is worn i'd suggest you to get a new fresh one. :)

I'm really thinking about getting a Cana Modz myself to replace my Vamo. I just recently started going over 11 watts and want something with a little more kick since I'll be rebuilding my own coils for my tanks. Maybe in the future if I want to start doing RBAs, I'll have the mod for it. For $70, I don't think you could go wrong with the range it has to offer.

Well, I really loved the 18xxx series batteries, the smaller one lasts most of the day with heavy vaping and the bigger one lasts 2+ days of heavy vaping, so my intention was to stick with the long-life APV vs. the disposable / box types. I took a road trip to a more distant vape shop that I know to sell genuine products and not clones or knockoffs, and they took a good deal of time to show me a few things:
1. My vamo was a cheap clone (lesson learned)
2. They showed me all the options in my price range
3. That the genuine Vamo isn't bad at all. They fitted some kind of attachment to the threads that secures the 510 tanks in place so the threading wont strip, yet it's just as easy to change tanks (perfect!)

So I took a chance and bought a new V5 Vamo, which is a bit different than the clone I had. The display is much more informative, buttons are spring-ier, and it has wattage control on top of Voltage.. something my old one didn't have. Anyways, I've had it about two weeks and it's already proving to be much better on every level than my previous one.

I also will never go back to the store that sold me the clone (for the same price as the real one), because they clearly aren't honest- Every "name brand" item I've ever bought there turned out to be piss-poor quality fakes. These are the stores that give others a bad name.

For the record, HATS OFF to the 'worlds best vape shop' in bridgeport PA. You guys are awesome.

The Silver Bullet is a great choice along with customer service. The other one I like is the Sigelei 20Watt, which you can find for about $75-80 on sale. In regards to the SVD, I would not buy one. I had problems with mine from the beginning, returned for repair or replacement and after several weeks returned with the same problem. It resides in the closet, and going in the trash soon. Some folks have had good experiences with them but I wouldn't recommend buying one.
