Hello im nate. I've always come to ECF for info though i've never posted.

I've tried various ecigs but finally found something actually reliable once i found VV/VW in my lavatube (RIP) and VAMO.
I'm currently using a VAMO 18650 battery and a rebuildable phoenix atty. Sometimes i have good results sometimes it's lacking. Even making sure it's built at 2.0 ohms it's still lacking something.

Anyways, With my VAMO now looking pretty rough from the torturous journey of being my only working mod i'm looking for a fresh start. It also always seems like im needing another atty or juice. Constantly in need of something.

I'm wanting a VV or VV/VW mod that looks nice but sturdy enough to take a few drops and a tank mod with easy replaceable atty.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also how often should the 18650 batteries be replaced? seems like it doesn't hold a charge as long as it used to.

I apologize ahead of time if this thread is a little strange. I'm having nic withdrawals and holding my 2yr old son in my lap lol

MVP 2? Cheap, great build quality and it takes a beating and you don't have to worry about batteries (thing also lasts days with constant vaping).

My friend bought the VTR and...to be honest..when the price drops I will pick one up. If you want a tank of a mod...that is the mod for you. Or a 134 from innoken.

Provari's are widely suggested but that's only if you have the money to drop on it.

On a side note - for the battery replacement. I usually replace my batteries ever 6 months or so. I'm sure that others do it differently but I don't mind spending 20 bucks for new batteries 2 times a year, keeps them fresh and I don't worry as much. (I can be paranoid at times)

I have the SID, ZMax Mini and 2 Provari Minis. I enjoy them all but my everyday go to(s) are my Provari Minis. They are just a perfect fit for me. They are sturdy, reliable, petite and hella beautiful...along with extremely versatile. My SID and ZMax Mini are more like back ups for if something tragic were to happen to either of my Provaris. These are just my opinions of course but I hope it's helped a bit. For what it's worth, I got both my Provari Minis from the Classifieds here at ECF, so you could possibly find you a great deal on one as well. Welcome and good luck with whatever PV you do end up choosing.

I concur.

Nate, you said sometimes you have good results and sometimes you don't? How do you typically build your coils? I'm just trying to figure out why there's any variation at all, really.

My builds end up exactly the same every. single. time. Which is to say, damn amazing! :vapor:

It's funny that you mentioned the MVP 2. Thats what i've been looking at. i believe it comes with the i clear 30 tank. Do i just replace the coil? Would it be worth it to invest into a protank instead. dual coils scare me for some reason. i guess i've never researched them b/c when i had my lavatube, they suggested to steer clear of them

i bought an mvp2 a bit ago and although a lot of people liked the iclear30, which worked well, i preferred the vape with the PT2.

Thank you both. The MVP sounds good b/c of the passthrough ability. I work as a porter at a GMC lot so there is always a USB in reach. I guess now i should decide on what tank mod to use with it. I've come to the conclusion im not a rebuildable atty hero. I'll still practice it in case of zombie apocalypse or FDA getting their way.

I'll def check out the classifieds. i honestly forgot they were there. ><

There is just so many options and even the ecig stores here are full of basic starter kits. When i talk about VV/VW i get blank ... stares.

The MVP2 does not have replaceable batteries so I didn't want that. I went with a Sigelei Zmax V3 Telescopic w/IBTanked carto tank. I'm still using the Sigelei nearly nine months later.

The lifespan for Li-ion batteries is about the same for both replaceable and disposable batteries. You get anywhere from 200 to 250 charge cycles from them before the battery begins to lose capacity. Capacity loss means the freshly recharged battery won't last as long as it used to when it was new.

i usually take a small nail ( always same one ) wrap it around 3-4 times, Pull a small strand of cotton yarn ( no chemicals ) through the coil and hook it up.
The cotton always just burns up. I've had several small fires in the atty lol How long do you let your wick soak before vaping?

Hmm, alright.

I always dry burn my coils when installing a freshly wrapped one. This "sets" the coil, after which you can install your cotton wick and juice it up.

Check out this video how to build a good micro coil: Chimney Micro Coil Build In A Kayfun Lite - YouTube (Don't worry about the parts where he says wraps under/over... that's for building a vertical coil)

You want tight wraps placed close together. Once you have it wrapped, leave the bit inside and install it into your Phoenix. Take the bit out once it's positioned correctly (not touching posts or deck) and the screws are in nice and snug. Then you dry fire. Once you get it to glow evenly from the middle, out you're ready to put your wick in and juice it up and vape it. If you get any hot spots you will need to take something and pick at the coil or simply rake it across the surface to help it set.

P.S. Please don't burn your cotton wicks :p
