Once again…I'm not sure if I know what throat hit is…12mg/ml, 18mg/ml, and 24mg/ml juice feel basically the same to me. And, switching from 24mg to 12mg just made me want to vape more often.
BUT…
If throat hit is what I think it is then it's related to a tightening of the throat muscles when the drug hits the mucosa at the back of the throat. That would feel something like a brief tightening, maybe tingling to some people. It's a specific kind of irritation that I think has to do with activating motor neurons quickly.
I have felt that before (most strongly with nicotine gum, but vaping does it too) and I agree that it's completely different from the "hit" that comes when something spicy hits your throat or a lot of other irritants, and I think it feels completely different from the irritation from inhaling cigarettes moke. But there are other drugs/chemicals that do it.
I don't know them off the top of my head, but I'd guess those products are using one of those……if they're anything other than marketing tricks to get people to buy stuff and then banking on placebo effects.
