I get that from my so called friends all the time.

"why are you sucking on that black dildo?"

"look at this guy and his crack pipe."

Stupid comments like that doesnt bother me anymore. I just tell them that ill make sure to throw thier favorite box of carton smokes on their casket at there funeral....usually, that shuts them up. Yeah....im ruthless.

I went in once to get juice for a long car trip, and the woman behind the counter was... a bit put off that I just picked up a bottle of juice. She asked me if I wanted papers or anything because "that won't work"... to which I explained that I was using my e-cig as recommended and she gave me the strangest look...

So I am wondering what she thought you were going to use the eliquid for that you would need papers? I am confused. Is there an alternative use for eliquid in some way that it's not intended? Weird reaction, if you ask me!

Don't worry about it! I get that kind of uneducated reaction too. In Arizona vaping was MUCH more adopted and people were interested. Here in Oregon(Which I thought would be 10x more aware) people give me the same reactions and vaping isn't as known. For some of the older generations and current deadset on only wanting the tobacco taste I just don't argue with them. I tell them yes you can vape Camel and Marlboro, but after your first dessert/fruit/novelty flavor you'll switch. It's a tough scene for us! Were the guinea pigs and that can't be argued. Just smile and nod and know that your much happier and healthier now!

Thanks, I was just wondering if when the girl said, "That's not going to do it" if she was referring to some other use...I mean, I get that she was purchasing it in a head shop and they primarily sell pot paraphenelia, but what the heck else are you going to use eliquid for than its intended purpose? @ drIpping&driving, that's what I was wondering if she was getting at...to add it to something else? It is amazing anyone working anywhere that sold this stuff could know so little about it...then again, maybe not:confused:

My neighbor smokes and here's a perplexing one for you. She thinks its great hubby and I have switched (3 months now). She says she tells everybody about us and our success with switching.... but she's still sticking with cigarettes. I don't try to nudge her there's obviously someting holding her back from trying to switch I just wonder why when she thinks its great that we have.

Not the 2nd one I told her if she decides to start let me know and I'd help her. Perhaps the 1st because she's expressed interest she just hasn't acted on it.

It could be a fear of failure, or a fear of success. I was afraid to try, too. What if this didn't work, either? And, what if it did work...that means I'd quit smoking, and I wasn't sure that I wanted to give up that activity (even though I wanted to give up the smoke). And I assumed e-cigs would be just as hard and painful as quitting smoking had been before, so I wasn't sure I wanted to feel like that again. It's hard to get psyched up for it if you think it's going to be painful and you uncertain about it.

So, be patient with her. She may come around at some point when she's mentally ready.

For me, what helped was telling myself I didn't have to quit smoking, just reduce the amount I was smoking in my house. Reading here also helped me tremendously. Any way you can get her to check out ECF?

while smoking on the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) i had some hyphy kid say "hey brah thats not the bidness! dont chu just wana smoke a real stoge?! Those are weak cuhzzz!" He proceeded to offer me one from his pack of parliament. I replied " dont you wish you had some decent cigarettes? hope you enjoy cancer." He begins to have a dumbfounded look sweep across his face, and said nothing else. He left the Cabin and didnt even look back. Might of been because i had 8 people with me and he was alone, but i enjoyed every second.

I usually get alot of people curious, some think its stupid. I just use one line "My lungs feel great, I don't cough anymore and I'm not fatigued later in the day." I then sit back smug as can be and wait for the scaff and head shake or the "Where and how much?"

Either way, I choose to look funny now, but so did people on Segways when they came out. You all know if you had a Segway you'd rid the hell out of it.

Now, we come along with this new product and we're stealing they're thunder. I think you were dead on when you said "jealousy" and "resentment".

I have to say that there's a lot of validity to that perspective. I used to think it was ridiculous of people to remark that Prius owners hate it when somebody "out-greens them", until I started riding a road bike. Then I discovered that it was pretty-much nailing them dead-on, as a generalization.

Many aCig smokers possess those same traits: "jealousy" and "resentment".

While vaping has pretty much removed the need to go to a designated smoking area at work, I usually will go out there on one of my breaks to tell people about the e-cig and just try to educate them on the concept of vaping in general. Most of the time, the reactions are positive. I've turned one person on to them completely, but others show a polite reluctance to embrace the idea.

I don't hide the fact that I'm vaping. It's my business, not anyone elses'. Most people walk by and say nothing. Some give strange looks, to which I'll smile or wave in response.

I do get the "What's that, some kind of Hooka/....?" line now and then. I'll clear it up by telling the person that it's a Personal Vaporizer, and leave it at that. There are those who seem more interested. They get as much information as they want to hear.

I've had a few negative reactions (usually from current or ex-aCig smokers), and I simply ignore them. Nobody asked for their opinion.

I wonder if he assumed yours was wispy because of his own past experience with a wispy Blu or gas station one.
