So I got this mech, tried it, and found it would not stand up without firing without having to mess with that locking ring every time I sit it down, and that just would not do. Also, the button was crunchy and sticky. Not good. First thing I got magnets for it from Fat Daddy, and they were no better, then I had to put the springs that came with it between the magnets, and it finally would stand up without firing unlocked, but the button was still crunchy and sticky.

I decided to try different magnets, stronger ones, and ordered some 2mm thick ones from a guy on Ebay, Max vaping, and those were great, they worked perfectly without the springs in there, but still, the crunchy button.

After studying it for a while I arrived at the notion that maybe it was that rice pin in there. It's ferrous metal, and the magnets attract it, so I thought to try a non-ferrous pin, and thought plastic would be good. Okay, what do I have that's plastic that's the right diameter and I can cut to the right length and stick in there? Pondering this for long enough brought the idea to mind that the cutting cord for my weedeater might work.

I cut a couple inches of that, checked and it fit right in the hole, so I cut it to length and stuck it in there, it works like magic! No more crunchy button, no sticking, it's perfect! Now the mech stands up unlocked without firing and has a perfectly smooth button. It took a little work, but I'm happy with it now.

A little ultra fine sand paper and/or good lubricant would have accomplished the same thing.
Crunchy was there with no magnets installed.
The plastic is helping because it is not binding. i.e. soft and self lubricating.

The Brass switches act much the same. Smooth

* Glad you found a simple solution that works for you.

Well I tried every lubricant I had on hand, none of them worked, and sanding the tiny little metal pin that came in it didn't seem to me like a remedy or very practical, but this works great, and I'm quite happy with it.

Don't forget the big Plus. Should you loose the pin, you have a zillion more.:D
