Back again... with some trouble shooting

O.k. so I got a Nemesis clone on Vaperoyalty.com. My problem is that my fire button gets scolding hot really fast every once so often. So hot it makes ya jerk your finger off the button. Is it a short? Everything else works fine.

I put a Plume Veil Clone on it. I built a parallel, 6 wrap, micro dual coil with A-1 28 gauge Kanthal. I'm also using a Sony18650 3.7v battery.

I just put that exact rda with the exact build on my King mod Clone. The mod is a thick SOB with a thick brass fire button. It doesn't do what it does on the Nemesis (as far as I know).

So let me guess what the resistance of that coil build is?? Do you know?

It's likely not the atty. If it works on your monster of a King clone, then it's probably your nemesis. And it's likely your switch.

Have you taken the entire mod apart and cleaned it? I personally clean my mods with clipper lubricant (the clippers for cutting hair) as once suggested in a random AmeraVape video I found, followed by a wipe-down with 91% isopropyl, paper towels, and some qtips for the hard to reach places. If you don't have fancy cool cleaning agents, a good degreaser or dish soap would work, it just takes longer to get it as clean.

As the switch comes apart, beware that g*****n pin that stops the entire switch from spinning on itself and falling apart. I've lost a few that weren't my own... thank god for a 3mm copper rod I found in my garage. Also, check to see if your spring is slightly discoloured and deformed. That's a sign that the spring is carrying more current than the firing pin, making the spring another heating coil, heating your button and cooking your finger off. If all the cleaning of your mod doesn't solve the issue, clean out your atty, and go get an ohmmeter.
My guess is your build comes out to about 0.25 ohms, which is still sort of safe, but don't go running around building dual 24g 5wrap parallels as carefree as a bunny on acid (*cough* me *cough*)

P.S. I probably have one of the most unreliable mod clones in existence (copper 4nine from fasttech). It hot buttons if any of the threads or the switch area is dirty. I clean the tubes and switch every other day, and it works for me. You probably don't have to do it as frequently as me, but having nice clean gear is always a plus, right?

I really see no need in cleaning it. Just got that thing and started using it more than a week ago. As for the button, that was one thing i was unhappy about with the Nemesis. It's clicky, thin and gets caught alot. You really gotta make sure you hit it just right for it to fully press down.

You can fix the crunchy switch with some sanding theres a thread on here for that and it works just fine. I would also recommend the magnet upgrade. I have both done and my switch is smooth. A fast fix with no work would be to order the extended firing pin upgrade from fatdaddyvapes it reduces the throw and the crunchy switch is therefore removed.

On a second note, is the switch pin screwed all the way down? People seem to think that it is adjustable for battery rattle, but it isnt.

It's not... it's actually kinda close, because I thought it adjusted to the battery... which it feel like it kinda does. I could be wrong though. Does the authentic Nemmy screw do that?

wHAT EVL SAID! Screw the bottom contact all the way down, remove the beauty ring and the kick tube, screw the switch in till snug that will get rid of battery rattle. that contact being loose could be causing arching and hot switch.
