take apart the bottom switch

if yours has the small brass spring, take it out. it is unnecessary.

clean the button housing (especially the middle where the pin screws in) and the inner parts of the delrin. (basically any part that makes contact with each other and slides)

when reassembling the bottom, make sure the spring goes over the middle part of the switch (where the pin screws in) and your switch will be nice and smooth.

There is no way the magnets could do anything to help my nemesis. THe switch button has worked flawlessly from day one. If the issue is gunk in a place there shouldn't be, it won't help here either. All the magnets do is replace the springs. I'll agree there are situations that the magnets make for a much smoother throw but that will not always be the case. I would do as recommended and take the switch apart and clean very well to see if that helps.

The very first thing to do when receiving a new Mechanical mod is thoroughly clean every part. Yea, like any of us ever listen.
Unfortunately, pressing the switch, even just to see if it is smooth, or how much travel it has is asking for more trouble. Any machining left overs(small metal particles) may as well be abrasive sand paper.

There is no need to Remove Parts DESIGNED to installed in the mod.
If you feel the need, fine. The Mod was designed to have the tiny pin in place in the switch. It assist in installing the switch and in removing the switch. It also keeps the button from free spinning.

After thoroughly cleaning mine. I used a tiny amount of Jacks Petroleum lubricant on the post. 4 out of 5 are very smooth and the 5th I did damage to while waiting on my Upgrade Magnets. I will be doing a bit of additional work to correct the Scratched switch Barrel.

So have you tried magnets? I have. Makes it smoother.

IMO, the biggest problem on the clone switch, is the machining. Rough finish is what it catches on. Seems to need a bit of a polish on the actual button to smooth it out completely. Having been to lazy to do that as of yet, I lubed the switch with Noalox. Coupled with magnets instead of springs, the switch action is buttery smooth about 99% of the time.

Yes I have. I am not advocating to not ever do magnets. My point was that the issue may be something that will not be fixed by a magnet. If there is a piece of debris that is between the post of the switch and the sidewalls, a magnet will not fix it. You can put magnets made of the rarest materials in the world and have been machined the by the Dahli Lama himself, there is still going to be a burr that causes an issue. That was my only point. If they want the magnets great, by all means put magnets in it. It may not be the issue though. My Nemesis is smooth 100% of the time.

Okay so check this out. On mine, there was no brass spring. I didn't remove anything however I have fixed it and it works better then ever. I took it all apart...and then rolled the center post over some 1000 grit metal sand paper....only a few rotations to just knock off about a half a hair..then cleaned and used a tiny bit of silicon lube..and boom....problem solved. There seemed to have been a small machining issue in the posts circumference however that has now been resolved

Okay....that little pin... If you loose it...where could you order a new one

Vaperev sells them, but I believe they're out of stock at the moment. I've also heard about people using the handles of binder clips and cutting them down to size (apparently toothpicks may do the trick as well but may be a little fragile).

Good luck!

The switch on my hcigar clone has also been super smooth since the day I bought it. I still ended up upgrading to magnets but really didn't see any noticeable improvement in the throw. One of the magnets ended up cracking in half after a few weeks so I'm back to just the single spring. Still a happy camper

My switch came unscrewed in my pocket once while still attached to the mod and it started firing on its own when i removed it from my pocket. I unscrewed the switch as fast as i could and when i did that it basically exploded and i lost the pin. I took a 1/16th drill bit and some metal shears and cut off a little piece of the end, (the smooth end that attaches to the drill itself), 2 minutes of sanding and smoothing the end and it works perfectly. There is a small amount of switch movement side to side when its all tightened but works perfectly. Was the best solution for me rather than spending 8$ on a new brass post. Also, Now i tighten down the bottom contact post with some small pliers and it hasn't come unscrewed accidentally again since.
