I had been smoking for over 50 years. Tried various methods to quit - to no avail. A little over two weeks ago I saw a test being conducted by a TV announcer for e-cigs on the net. The brand was 'pure' ... decided to give it a try. Ordered a kit and supply from purecigs.com, it arrived May 28th. One battery was faulty. I notified them by email, they replaced it, gratis, within two days. I've not purchased reg cigs since that date and intend to refrain from same in the future. After all these years this is the only method that actually made sense to me.

I have no qualms with 'pure' but other than the test alluded to above I haven't seen any pros or cons in re their product. Maybe they're new, seem to resemble Blu ads. Anyway, to make a comparative analysis thought I might try a couple of other brands. After much research, here and other sites, thought I might try CigEasy and/or Magma by Volcano. Is there a best choice? Suggestions?

Thanks

Tons of horrible, good, and great choices out there to pick from, and a lot of it will depend on what you physically want.

For me, so far, I'm pretty happy with my Joye 510 (but its the only model I've used). I get the impression it's the equivalent to a BIC ink pen. Cheap, reliable, and nothing fancy. The Ego is a nice step up, in terms of battery life, but the same basic configuration.

....and now you've prompted me to ask another question...

Welcome Aboard and a big Congratulations for you having success after 50 years!

You're going to get a whole lot of different suggestions and recommendations here at ECF as there are so many tried and true, well-tested e-cigs out there, and yes there are more than a few that are not worth the effort or money.

I can only attest that I started out using a KR808D-1 (2-piece model) and I quit smoking instantly with it. After about a week I ordered a Joye 510 kit from Cignot.com and haven't looked back since. It is a very reliable 3-piece model that is a very popular one around here.

Good Luck with your choice!

Welcome to ecf Alii.

Very heavy support among ecf members for the Joye 510 and KR808D-1. Both are reliable workhorses and you won't go wrong with either.

I bought the 510 from Cignot with full knowledge of its battery issues (limited capacity) since my orginal plan included upgrading to the eGo if the 510 worked out. It's great and I'll be ordering an eGo batt this week.

You'll be happy w/ either one, but be sure to order extra attys and carts or cartos, whichever route you choose.

What are you looking for in a e-Cig?

Easy to use?
Looks like a Real Cigarette?
Size?
Battery Life?
Price?
Interchangable Parts?

There's a ton of types out there. And I'm sure there is a perfect one for you. But without knowing what you want it is kinda hard to suggest one.

You're right! I'm one of those 3 folks that you know; unless I make #4. Things are looking pretty promising for our work buddy that we have both spoken with recently. I think that we made a believer out of her. Everyone knows that I was a diehard smoker that would "never quit." That usually makes an impression on folks. Your enthusiasm and support for folks (including me) that are making the ecig conversion also makes a strong and positive impression!

All of that said, GO FOR THE EGO!
The 3 people I know that smoked 30-50 years all eventually moved to the eGo. They appreciated the power, throat hit and vapor... It's a step above most entry level e cigs... it's basically a 510 on steroids.

Looks like a Real Cigarette? No! But close in taste a positive.
Size? N/A
Battery Life? The longer the better, e.g., probably eGo.
Price? N/A But looking to eventually spend, on the average, $50 or less/month.
Interchangeable Parts? A definite plus. Trying to identify what type my purecigs.com e-cig is. Not too much luck as yet, but just sent them an email requesting same.

Longevity and strong hit a very definite plus.

Thanks!

Based on what you said is important I would suggest a Janty eGo.

The size is good and it fits well in your hand.
Battery life is very good. I can go most of the day, sometimes all of the day on One battery. Three batteries in rotation would be perfect.
The Price is a little more that some of the other eGo's out there but Janty does offer a longer warantee on their parts.
Interchangable parts. All 510's can use cartridges or Cartomizers. And just about every e-Cig web site has accs. for a 510.

Two things I would also suggest is that when you get your starter kit, that you also get a 5 pack of cartomizers, in high strength, as well as some liquid e-Juice. Having three batteries for an eGo is perfect, you might consider getting an automatic battery as your 3rd. Nice to have both types to see which you like best.

I'm not going to say which type I like best, auto vs manual, because it just hijacks the thread into a debate or battery type. That has been covered ad-nou-se-ium(sp?) in other threads and i'm sick of reading about it.

What ever you decide, let us know. Also what other questions you might have once you get it.

Very cool! Just what makes these LR atties so amazing? Do describe for me/for all of us?

Speaking of atties did you see this? Toujours en Juin notre seconde nouveauté : Janty - Page 10 • FORUM-ECIGARETTE I'm thinking possibly massive vapor :vapor:
I just tried the Low Resistance atties on my eGo... holy cow... Donnado... Monday at work, we are sneaking a vaping session in at lunch ;-)

If I knew how amazing these LR's were, I might have saved $140 on my 5v mod and accessories...
