It shed lots of light in how I may approach my dad about vaping.
I can't even begin to agree that nicotine is not addictive. That would leave "vaping" completely unexplained and unexplainable.
No, think about it. Vaping has only one thing in common with smoking: nicotine. Large numbers (and increasing rapidly) of smokers are able to switch from smoking to vaping with little to no withdrawal (especially compared to the many "cessation" techniques and systems out there). If it wasn't the nicotine, where's all the withdrawal? Why didn't I have anything that I could point to as "withdrawal"?
I remember "cold turkey". It actually rattled me to think about. It was horrible. I would rather risk cancer than go through that again.
The closest to "quit" I got before vaping was the gum. Which the FDA keeps at very low levels of nicotine. The withdrawal wasn't as bad. But it was there. With vaping, I get as much nicotine as I need (or want or however you want to put it). And no withdrawal. At least none I can clearly identify (had a weird period of being very, very drowsy that hit me a while back but, looking back, that could have been the off the chart pollen count, I have allergies and am prone to sinus infections, they make me want to sleep all day).
No, none of that fits the idea that nicotine is nonaddictive or at most "mildly" so. In fact, vaping itself would make no sense whatsoever. If it wasn't providing the most addictive substance, nobody would switch. Ever. ECF wouldn't exist and we would be here posting...
I would rather someone not smoke,but if you're old enough to make your own decisions so be it. I've smoked since I was eight so I won't tell anyone what to do with thier own body. I would give your dad the best money can buy if thats what you wish cause it,s a lot better than analog. If you're going to smoke you don't need someone elses permission.
Just a quick update here....I got my kit in the mail today. =) I have such a great appreciation for the technology in e-cigs. I don't smoke and I felt completely safe using it. No flame, just press the button and it's like magic! To be honest, I enjoyed it and found it relaxing. Plus I'm sold on the hundred of flavors available. Well this weekend, I'm visiting with some friends in Dallas and will test more flavors at Good Vapes and DFW Vapor. I heard those were the 2 best shops out there.
Social part...in some countries, most business gets handled over a smoke. Vaping 0 nic isn't likely to get you addicted yet gives you an excuse to join the smokers for some important chat without starting smoking. (though that won't save your suits from smelling like an ashtray afterwards) Anyhow, that's 50% of the reason I'm looking into e-cigs.
...the other 50% is my girl who wants to quit smoking but in her own words is "technologically ......ed." So on here looking for something simple to start with for her, and something to mod for me.

I wish you all the best with it flex. Just a tip: some flavours are going to be excruciating at 20%. Some very strong flavours might work best as low as 1% or even less. Try to look around for a suggested starting %, then at least you'll know you're in the right ballpark. Some vendors suggest the %, or you can try looking at the original flavour supplier (TPA, LorAnn, Capella, etc.). Of course, you'll also find many recommendations here in the DIY section.
It took me 21 years t get off cigarettes, I have vaping to thank for that! Honestly though if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't touch cigarettes or e-cigs with a 10ft pole. Mind you this whole vaping thng might seem cool now as cigarettes did 20 years ago, but what happens when it goes stale and all your left with is that lifetime addiction? If you've never smoked I discourage the use of e-cigs I'll be the ....... in the group but at least I can say I didn't come in here and encourge you to get hooked on a substance you weren't addicted to before we had this conversation.
My personal advice is if you smoke, you're stupid for lot trying this I wouldn't waste my time ordering a ....ty kit tho, get a nice one so your first experience vaping isn't bad like some people's which pushed them away. If you don't smoke and want to try.. Eliquids have no nicotine in some and you can get vitamins in some. Either way give it a try!!

So far I'm liking Hazenut but will have to experiment with the strength. I'm testing Double Chocolate and like that too.
Just curious why she feels that way. Is it the button to press? Also, I'm not sure how far I'll take vaping but I would love to try the eVic. The lowest I've seen it was $65 with free shipping.

DFW Vapor: I loved the customer service and the sweet looking company sport's car. They had a greeter/sales guy to welcome me and answer any of my questions. They were super busy but I didn't feel rushed. I did get a Vanilla Cola on sale for $7 and I may need to try steeping it before I try it again. I returned the next day when it was less busy and tried several flavors. I had fun trying the samples and ended up getting the Sour Watermelon which is my fav. =) They gave me a battery and atomizer which I cleaned after each sample.
Good Vapes: I liked the layout and feel of this shop. I wasn't too impressed when the sales guy who wanted to take a closer look at my e-cig. He was trying to unscrew the battery but was unscrewing the clearomizer, almost spilling my juice. I ain't mad at him. =) I like how they give you a protective tip sleeve and a battery to try their flavors. I was still weirded out that I could get someone's germs. I tried the Pizza flavor and was surprised that it actually smelled like Pizza. =)

Interesting. My local has their liquids loaded into iClear 16s and they unwrap a fresh disposable drip tip for each customer. It's hygenic and hassle free.

It's the greatest invention of the century. =) I really like the EVOD. I thought I was going to get a eVIC for myself but I'm sold on the ZMAX V3.
Thanks for asking about him. My parents visit next month. I mentioned to my mom that I was getting him an e-cig and she commented that it peaked his interest after seeing someone vape in the airport.

So after much reading and going back and forth between vendor sites, I went with the ZMAX Flat-top kit for $76 with free ship.
