Don't be embarrassed. I like to keep my attys and PVs, especially the Reos spiffed up. I even use a special metal cleaner on my RoughStack, with carto (anxiously awaiting the big cartos) the only PV I carry to the woods, when I'm working...

When I've commented about cutting the 801 standard/tall LR down I mention that, when I uncrimp the edge, I'm careful to not mar the beautiful finish. (I love the IKV 2.0 so much I ordered 20 of the last 40 available. Another Reo user purchased 10 soon after. At $5 a piece, they were a STEAL.)

Alice

I'm so glad I'm not the only polisher here, Alice! Seriously, how could anyone rave about a 510 after seeing one of these all spiffed up?

I LOVE the 2.0 too (and now I know who got the last of them ) but I hadn't even thought of cutting them down. Do you use a hand-held pipe cutter like the ones modders use on cartos?

Hooray... the new mini's arrived today! ...

Bah... my run of bad luck continues... this morning, my 5 day old LR801 just died... reading over 100 ohms on the meter :(

Maybe i'm doing something different to cause them to die prematurely? Prior to this run, they always died a slow agonizing death of gradual under performance, maybe a pop during a desperation dry burn after many weeks of use. But three in a row now just quit on me in their prime. I did change liquids in the last couple of months... less VG and less nic (so some more vaping)... maybe that has something to do with it?

My second LR801 1.8 ohmer is a little warmer than the first, it cranks even more than the first... really hope it lasts!

will these work with the Janty Stick?

They will work, but the 10440 battery was not designed to power attys with a resistance of 2Ohm or lower. The 10440 battery is quickly becoming a dinosaur as even in the beginning, it sucked at the power demands vapers place on a PV. In both performance and longevity.

Another Reonaut purchased 10 of the remaining 20 tall/standard LR 801.

Same thing or similar. Just a little cheapo from HD. Key is to barely tighten down and just do a light score, then tighten a bit, and so on. It's very easy to do and only takes about four scores. Don't use brute force. It, also, helps to have an old battery to screw it onto. In my case I use an old eGo battery with a 510-801 adapter. Actually the eGo battery wasn't shot but I gave all the manual ones to a friend and didn't want to wish an auto battery on anyone, especially a newbie, so I dedicated it to holding attys/cartos when I'm fooling with them.

The pipe cutter leaves a little crimping on the edge which needs to be uncrimped a little. I use little duck bill pliers, similar to needle nose. DON'T over do the uncrimping as it is difficult to get it crimped back in. This is for use of an 801 DT of choice. Super T has an adapter for for their tank feeder that can also be used for an 801 tube to 510 DH. I love them and they are shiny SS. I have a nice collection of 510 DTs and especially love my Cherry Vape Pawns.

The IKV Mini is one of the original shorter versions that were first production and are shorter than the ones we are waiting on. If you look really closely you can see how the tube narrows a bit going up to the top.

Alice BTW.... I'm one of those "modders".

The black base are the tall/standard IKV 801 cut down to Semi and Mini size. They are not marred. I didn't wipe them down before taking the picture.

I over did the uncrimping on the tall cut down to Mini size and wanted to get on with using it so this is what I used for temporary solution. Re-crimping is difficult with only standard household tools.

Wow, NICE work there, Alice! Thanks for sharing the home grown minis and the drip tip variations. The pictures really help me see what you mean by crimping and where the duck bill would come in.

I wouldn't have ever thought to use a cart condom as a topper! And, SuperT really did every 801 lover a favor when he created the 801 to 510 adapter for the VapeMate and drip tips, didn't he? Thank you again!! I could actually do this and might...now I have to get past cutting my beauties.

Hooray... the new mini's arrived today! I was a little worried that 1.8 would be too hot compared to 2.0... not at all... it is a bit warmer, but not nearly so warm as 3.5 @ 6v... excellent atty for the 3.7v mod Isaac!

2.0 ohm @ 3.8 = 7'ish watts
1.8 ohm @ 3.8v = 8'ish watts
3.5 ohm @ 6v = 10'ish watts

8 watts works for Goldielocks :)

I'm sure this could put a dent in the 16340IMR runtime, but maybe with more powerful hits, I'll take fewer hits total?
Ahh you shouldn't have any worries with batt life in the least. I beefed up the internal resistance to take care of that problem ;) What was your findings?

Now girlfriends are different, I prefer to use both :)
Not necessarily at the same time, but maybe once and a while.

Anyway back to the topic. Can't wait to try them out. Still have 2 of the last batch at 2ohm working now.
Just getting the hang of them on my REO Grand. Life is good.

Issac is 'da man.
LOL Your such a Ninja!! You definitely deserve that avatar! and judging by your name you must be a porn starish ninja!

Guess I got a bad one, just popped after less than an hours use @ 3.7 on my little Chuck.Got 5,no doa and all ohm'd good.First one seemed a bit week, second one a lot better.
Hope the other 4 last a little longer. It was plenty wet,I'm not shy with the juice on 'em :(
First one ever reported, no worries on the others you have, shoot me an email, I'll take care of it.
I also briefly considered letting my current 801 minis and long boys run their course. Two seconds later I was firing up a new 1.8. The break-in for the 1.8 seems to be a tad bit longer than for my other Ikenvape 801s and for a bit it tasted like I encountered some primer. The air flow on my stealth adapter had to be opened up a little bit more to get to the sweet spot.

Then again, I think Isaac floats above the earth so my expectations were way too high to begin with. By longer I mean an hour as opposed to 1/2 hour. I know...proves how spoiled I am, doesn't it? :) I've got two going - one on a Reo and the other with a VapeMate. I do put the long boys in my PV carry kit as back-ups and have them in my active atty caddy for rotation but, for now, I'm all about these 1.8's.

And, this habit is so embarrassing I can't believe I'm going public with it. I polish my 1.8's with eye glass wipes. Rather than let these beauties be seen with smudges or drips I keep an unopened wipe in my PV kit. Judging by the videos I see with the minis I can't be the only one who wants to show them to their best advantage though.

Great job, Isaac!
I'm not one for acronyms but LMAO. Your the Greatest Sewn!! I can't stress that lmao enough!
Show it and be proud! No need for embarrassment! We're in 2011 and times NEED to change. At;east with this stylish figure you don't have a constant thing in hand thats always contaminating the environment with an acrid smell and plus things like emphysema will always be non existent. I have purchased these little alcohol pad wipes to raise hygiene awareness a while back, but I can see your already on top of it now!
Almost a week now and my first is still going strong. Definately getting better with age. I too loosened up my stealth 801 adapter a bit to increase air flow. Works like a charm.

Can't get over how much better these are the 2.0 minis, and I was a fan of those (more for the flavor than function). These new 1.8's check all the boxes.

Great taste, check.
Better TH, check.
Works with my drip tip, check.
No juice in the mouth, check.

Rock On Good Dude!!

Once again Amy you just blew me away as I'm certain others are to with your post. I wish we can make posts like these stand out for all to see. Just excellent work!
I'm in talks with Cherry vape about supplying their beautiful pieces of art. The retail price point bothers me a bit honestly, but if the quality is top notch as the exquisite photos are, you can count us in! Besides Cheryl has been a great person to work with communication wise. Just a great gal. I'm still waiting for your next novel ;)

Drat... another one bites the dust... this time after only 4 days :(

It had just mellowed a bit, like a new atty can do after a little use, and suddenly went completely cold. The batt at the time of failure was not freshly charged, only reading about 3.5v unloaded.

I hope it's just a run of bad luck, but I'm beginning to wonder if the new 1.8 ohmers just aren't as reliable as their 2 ohm predecessors... so far only lasting 4 or 5 days... ouch.

Holy smokes VM! Did you know that your the only report about these?? I wonder what in the world is going on??? I hope folks aren't just being nice! I need to know these things! What a person wants to hear is not what a person needs to hear. I'll get you out a couple replacements my good man, but we really need to source whats happening so it can stop reoccurring.

Please don't worry about replacements, i've got a couple more arriving on monday already... that i i buy then from you with the no warranty option so this is the risk i bear for that option :)

I will let you know if the trend continues for me. A couple of variables have changed so it's not obvious what the cause may be... new attys, new liquids with lower nic and less vg (so more vaping). I'm beginning to think it may be re-dripping when the atty is still hot that could be the cause (since i'm vaping more)?

I'm using one of the older 2 ohmers now and have another unused in reserve, in addition to a few of the newer 1.8 ohmers. I'll keep you posted about how longevity comparisons between the two types turn out.

I just got mine on the 22nd and lost the first one on the 24th. Not a big deal because I have four more and I probably abused the poor little thing. I tend to chain vape, so sometimes they get a little hot. I love them and they look slick on both my Chameleon and my Indulgence! These really are beautiful, Issac!

Thnx Switched... that no warranty option means just that :)

Just sharing what i'm seeing with these new 801s because it's fun to talk shop with other vapers and to provide some feedback to Isaac. While I've had a couple of short lived LRs, the HV 801 is hanging in like a champ. I don't use it as much as the LRs, but I've run a fair amount of liquid thru that guy by now and it's showing no signs of wear and tear of any kind.

Mine are still going, even after I tripped into variable voltage (finally). I switch between flavors and tanks throughout the day so I'm not using one for hours on end...though there are those days when only a 6 ml of Candy Cane in the Reo and a 1.8 are the only things that drag my derriere through to the end. :) And, how could I not mention the drip tip love?! ALL my 801 drip tips fit these and make for great atty fashion statements.

These feel a pinch tighter somehow than the 2 ohm long boys (using one right now with a mix of coffee and cinnamon danish - flavor explosion goin' on over here!) or the 2.5 shorties. I keep thinking it's me...thinking too hard about them. I have my air flow all the way open so we'll see if it's me or the juice.

Ohhh noooo....

My third 1.8 ohm LR801 lasted a little longer, but not much... i got one week out of it. Given 3 in a row that survived for so short a time, I think it's not a fluke. Not sure if it's the atty itself, or something that i'm doing... in the end, they just ain't lasting for me.

I'm gonna lay off those guys for a while, and get a different kind of atty going for a change... maybe the 901... or maybe just run this older fullsize 2 ohm 801 into the ground finally. I set that fullsize guy aside when my minis showed up and i keep picking it back up after each mini has died. Could it be that this fullsize atty keeps killing the minis out of jealousy :)

Really weird, my first one from a few weeks ago is still going strong and it's on my all day (and night) mod.

It is weird, I may have burned thru more 801s since December then i went thru from last summer till December. I got accustomed to them lasting a month+. I've just been killing the mini's somehow?

Glad to hear that it's holding up for you.
