So what is the primary advantage to this? I did watch the video, but it was kind of long and I was tired. From what I gather.
1. You can adjust the center pin so you can adjust where the air hole is without the use of an o-ring.
2. You can swap a tube without taking the innards (delrin out).
3. Anything else?

New mods that ship now will have this or no?

1 and 2 are huge upgrades though that keep a lot of problems from occuring (broken nipple; leaking nipple; thread damage by wrenching down atomizers and using O-rings to get air hole to specific area; and leads to more convenient experience for the user).

Yes, once Rob gives the word, orders will start flooding in. I'm sure he may have a stock pile of older 510 mods he may liquidate. But I really feel Rob will be using the new 510 in all of his Reo Grands from now on. They're just overall better, and he wants us vaping... not shipping them in for repair.

$45 to have your mod retrofitted with the new 510 connection .
That is new everything we toss the old bottle and feed tube if you want to keep it remove it before you send it in .
If your spring is in good shape we wont install a new spring and that would be - $5 from your bill
The positive contact is the same but we do have to install a new insulator the old hole on the insulator is to small Its easier to just replace it .

I have said it before and I will say it again if your not having any problems with your mod no need to upgrade .
For what it cost to me its well worth it this is a huge upgrade in the mods durability .

Yes the feed hole is slightly larger pushing the bottle should be a little easier depending on what atomizer you running . If the atomizer has a small feed hole the larger feed hole in the 510 wont make much of a difference

I will also add if your mod comes to the shop soaked with e juice and mold growing in the unit one will be charged a cleaning fee . We have to clean these mods when they come to the shop before we work on them . If you could see how some of these come to my shop it would scare you . When I make comments like it looks like someone field dressed a small animal in there mod I am not kidding or I have seen mold growing in the mods again not kidding or I cant read the note in the mod because the full bottle of juice ended up all over the shipping box .

Mods come to my shop all the time no note no email and yes even no name on the box . I fix the mod and toss it in the lost and found . I dont have mystical powers I need a name email and a shipping address . The more info you give me the easier it is for me to get your mod back to you

You are correct all the mods will be fitted with the new 510s .

I dont like repairing mods I like building new mods there is no money in repairing mods for me I dont charge enough . I am always working on making the mods tougher . At some point this year I will upgrade the positive contacts again . I have a very small % of people that break the contacts I am hoping a thicker positive contact will stop this .

James, prolly the biggest advantage other than those you mention is the indestructible /crush / hoople proof insulator. Never again will an atty wrencher or unskilled REO rebuilder like me have to worry about rebuilding a REO because we can't damage a gasket by overtightening an atty and won't have to mess with tightening a small brass nipple if you ever have to rebuild to replace the gasket. The one REO I got from rob with the new contacts installed NEVER gets juice behind the Delrin. The ones I upgraded do.

To me, it's all about knowing that the new connector puts this mod in another league because there is little any of us can do to it that would EVER cause a leak or break any part of the 510 / centerpost or nipple.

The only way you would ever have to wrench it again is if you snapped the firing pin from mashing or dropped a spring.

To me those features are HUGE.

Wonderful video and presentation, Russ. The "hot swap" capability is a super feature along with the adjustability of the pin.

It appears that my 2 Grands will be visiting with Rob, soon. Hopefully, I'll have my 3rd and 4th Grands in hand before sending in my current rigs for the upgrade.

Thank you :) yes all mine will go for the upgrade. It's a HUGE upgrade :)

The biggest advantage you cant crush the gasket . I shouldn't say that I am sure there will be a super star that will crush it but he will have to work for it to do it .

Food for thought.....if everyone sends their grands in for new 510s we will never have a woodvil sale or resin mods.

He did mention a few posts back if your not having problems...no need to upgrade. He also said he would rather be building reos tan fixing them..

My opinion is that rob has a lot on his plate right now so we shouldn't inundate him with unnecessary upgrades until he gets thru with woodvil run.

Thanks for the close ups Russ of the new 510 it looks killer and I really like the new longer feed tube. How tight is that adjustable set screw though is there any chance it will move when you screw in the atty because I noticed it's not reverse threaded.
Killer vid as always bud, and let us see you rock that guitar of yours

Rob said he's gonna retrofit the existing stock, starting next week. He'll give us a heads up when they've all been converted. From that point, all the grands and mini's on the site should have them.

IIRC the retrofits started earlier this week and all mods should be ready for sale with the new 510 sometime next week. I may have misunderstood though.

Waiting for the announcement so we can send our current Reos in. I'm glad I have two, I messed up the rebuild on one of mine and would rather have Rob put a new 510 in it to avoid future issues. The one that came with the SO contacts straight from Rob has had zero issues.

It can move when your threading your atty on . I wouldn't dare do it with reveres threads at least this way there is a little give . The original reo had a adjustable connection people would blow the gaskets out of the atomizers and there cartos with that set up . even with this set up if you wrench your atomizer down to hard you can damage atomizers and cartos even some of the rebuildable atomizers . I was able to ruin a rm2 wrenching the atomizer on while doing some testing

Thank you Rosco but we will be all set to handle all the upgrades . This wont slow the wood mods down any . I look forward to installing these 510 connections

I can tell you he is gonna have my three on his plate when the flag drops. Like he said, he can hang.

Ima remove bottles, feed tubes, old 510 centerposts, gaskets and firing pins. I'm even gonna keep my Delrin inserts and fire buttons here. Then I'm gonna wash them in really hot water and dawn so they are as clean as possible.

This'll save Rob time. I hope all ya'll do the same. Let's show Rob how real REOnauts roll :)

Or you can show him how much of a filthy pig you are - it's anyone's choice I guess :)
