Hello! Very new to this whole thing, glad to have found this forum!
Problem is I really really want to quit smoking regular cigarettes. I got the blu ones, and I am really trying to make them work but they just aren't. I keep getting bad carts etc, to the point it has become so frustrating.
Anybody have any recommendations for me?
I need something for beginners, but also something that works, the blu just have too many glitches and too many dud carts .
Thanks ;)

My daughter and I use Kanger Evods, and are very happy with them. Easy to use, reasonably priced, coils are reasonably priced and easily replaced. We are using the single coils, and I clean them so that I can get at least 2-3 extra uses from them before I pitch them. They can also be recoiled and rewicked for even more use.

You are probably going to want a glass clearomiser at some point for use with "tank cracker" eliquids. The Kanger Protank 2 Mini is a good one to consider. It uses Kanger single coils.

Enjoy!

Hello, welcome to ECF!

I'm sorry your Blu is giving you trouble, but you're definitely not alone.

Drunkenbatman put on his serious hat for once, and recommended a perfectly good starter kit; I quit with something similar, and it's MUCH nicer than using a cigalike like Blu.

However, I'll also say you might look into an Eleaf Istick battery paired with an Aspire Nautilus tank. It's a bit pricier than an ego starter kit, but maybe not in the long run.

I'm not saying one is right, but I wanted to upgrade from an ego pretty quickly, personally. Just a bit of food for thought :)

One thing that I notice in the mods is how long the battery will last. The EVOD has a 650mAH and since many vape in the 1500mAH area, the EVOD will be charging often. But, it is inexpensive.

Another I would consider is the Vision Spinner 2 1600mAH. A bit more at $35. Other features are a step up, also.

As to tanks, the Protank 2 did well for me. There is a full and a mini, both having glass so any juice will work.

Just ideas

My Evod starter kit served very well for several month before I had the itch to upgrade. The kit came with two complete assemblies, though. Always had on charged and filled. I never had problems with leaking or dry/burnt hits either. They just work. The coils are fairly cheap. $10.00 for a pack of five. You can probably find them cheaper or when you feel comfortable, you can rebuild the coil. Welcome to ECF and happy vaping.

Hey Sally, I'm really new to vaping myself (~3 weeks). Actually, I wasn't even initially planning on quitting (nor had a desire to quit smoking), but after an associate of mine piqued my interest with his e-go, I started doing some research (it helps that I'm kinda into tech/DIY things) and got myself a nice setup that's gotten me from ~1-1.5 packs per day worth of smokes to ...maybe 1-2 rolled cigarettes/day? Maybe? (And honestly, that's just because I enjoy the taste of rolled tobacco and, again, didn't start with the intention of quitting. That said, I can see myself completely quitting with ease. I kinda lucked into it, I guess)

If I were you and *wanted* to quit, I'd get myself a kit that'll help you enjoy the experience (vs something you have to power through). Perhaps, as previous posters suggested, something that you won't outgrow like in a month. For a battery, the Eleaf IStick seems to be a popular, budget-friendly choice. Personally, I went for the slightly pricier MVP 20W ($42 w/ shipping. I heard that the MVPs were more durable and reliable. [I'm kind of a klutz, at times]). I went with the variable voltage/wattage device since it allows for a wider range/more customization w/r/t tanks and e-liquids.

For tanks, the Aspire Nautilus Mini seems to be a popular choice for ease-of-use and flavor. (I never got an Aspire Nautilus Mini (rather, I have one that I'm planning on returning since I went with a "more difficult" tank [a Lemo Drop] where you have to rebuild coils and the like instead of buying easy-to-use coil heads]), but did go with Aspire K1s. They probably mute the flavor more so than the Nautilus Mini, but are more pocket- and on-the-go-friendly. (This choice was augmented by the dripper/rebuildable tanks I went with). The K1s runs through roughly 2-3 mL/day with heavy use. I'd estimate the equivalent on the Nautilus Mini's 3-5 mL/day with heavy use? A guess.)

For e-liquids, my first e-liquid purchase was from Mt. Baker Vapor. They have good flavors and are very, very friendly on the wallet. (15 mL of botique e-liquids for roughly $4-5/30 mL for roughly $7-8)

It might seem a bit pricey at the get-go for something you might or might not be into, but another way to see it is that you'll be spending the the cash that you would spend on a few packs at the store on a roughly equivalent amount in gear/e-liquid. And if you ultimately do end up dropping the e-cig thing, you could potentially sell your gear on CL or something. Another drawback is that the whole e-cig/vaping thing does require more research than going out and buying tobacco/cigarettes (although, if you get into it, it can be a plus?)

Anyhow, I hope this didn't ramble too much or seem too presumptuous. G'luck!

Sally I'm sorry that you have the Blu-cig Blues. My recommendation comes fro what we have been selling the most of at my friends store and that would be the I-stick 30watt with an Aspire Nautilus full size. I ask them why not start with the 20 watt and they all tell me that they like the idea they don't have to buy another device should they want to graduate to an Atlantis sub-ohm tank or a drip atomizer that the device will carry them through their transitions until needing a full on cloud chasing device like a 100 watt box. I can respect that take on things, it means that they really have things planned out and have done their homework.

I use a 30 watt I-stick with an Atlantis for an all day vape device when out and about and have my Sigelei 150watt with my Tobh built @.2 for cloud chasing in my pocket for when I need to create foggy roomz LOL. I have a I-stick 50 watt on order just because of the battery capacity 4400 MAH is a great deal of battery life. Good luck

Hi ya Sally. I have a couple of suggestions, better late then never. An Aqua-vape Hybris kit is around $30 bucks and gives you a VV option but lets you slap a new Battery in instead of waiting. I'm strongly into quick change batteries. and the 14500 batts are every where. For a stronger lifetime warrenty look at a Provape 1 starter kit ($130) from Provape. The PV 1 is a very solid unit and they have Excellent customer support, also U.S. made. I love mine. comes w/ 2 AW batt.s a charger a nice tank & a great small package.I wish someone had told me about the PV1 in the beginning ,but I have several Provape units now and really happy with all of them. Still my Hybris is a nice little unit and gets used quite often. Welcome to the best way to save yourself.

I was the same. I so badly wanted to stop so got a ego starter kit but one min it worked then next it didnt and got so fed up with trying. I got the spinner 2/aspire nautilus mini and as soon as i started using it ive never wanted to smoke a real cigarette since. Im still new to vaping so dont really feel i cant recommend something apart from what i said but can recommend getting a better set-up. Just make sure you get advise. I only joint this forum today but people here seem nice and helpful. Good luck
