Hello and thank you guys for this plethora of information!

I quit analogs about two months ago and have been vaping for a little over four months. I use the 808 and I love it, but would definitely appreciate suggestions as to something comparable/but better if you have them :)

What I'm finding I do not like is the battery life. They seem to be lasting only about one month before they die. I've tried batteries from Vapor4Life, Smokeless image and LiteCig with about the same experience (regarding battery life) with each of them.

Thanks again!

Welcome to ECF.

You should switch away from cigarette looking PV's. The eGo family PV's (eGo, Riva, KGo, ePower) will give you a longer lasting battery. Most of them are threaded for 510 and offer the most options as far as cartos, atomizers and tanks. And then there are all kinds of mods that will give you more battery life and they come in different voltages.

Liberty Flights carries eGo's, Rivas and ePower at reasonable prices (click on the 20% Discount button on the top left of their site). Hoosiers caries the KGo and ePower.

...the Riva 510 lite bundle from Liberty-Flights is an inexpensive kit for 30bux(20%discount button on top left of their page)...batts are 3.7v and last 6+hrs...next is the KGO from Hoosierecigsupply for 42bux, it is a 3.7-4.2v unit with around 10+hr batts...for the same price from the same vendor is the E-Power with replaceable non-proprietary batts(cheaper to replace batts) with 10+hr life...from there, you step upto the RoughStak from MadVapes in the 70bux range for the kit and then a big step to the GLV from GreatLakesVaping...cost a Franklin+ and in that range their are a number of impressive mods...and of course there are box mods, both fixed and variable voltage that start around 30 bux and go upto around 150 for REOs...and at the top are the ProVari and Darwin in the 250range...so there is a quick look at options........

I am so confused about the carto/atty thing. I do plan on reading more here in the forums but I am at work right now and fear getting caught! LOL. I am definitely going to figure this out though as the cigarette looking PVs are all I have used, and only then with cartos. I guess I will eventually have to sink some cash into an atty version to see if I like it better. Thanks for all the great advice...filling up my favorites list with new urls!

An cartomizer is nothing more than an atomizer with a built in cartridge. Generally speaking a carto(mizer) will hold more juice than a cart/atomizer combination. They are also less expensive and do not last as long as an atomizer. Carto's are available in various resistances just like atomizers. Carto's also come in different sizes, and some will hold 3ml or more of juice. I believe that the majority of people on this forum prefer cartos to a cartridge/atomizer combination and only use atomizers for dripping.

The eGo/Riva family of PV are not much bigger than the slim PV's. My Riva 750 mAh batery in only 1/4 inch longer than a 510 slim battery and about 30-50% larger in diameter, and the battery lasts for 6+ hours of moderate vaping.

check out greatlakesvapor.com the waiting list is long (been 36 days since i ordered mine, but i did get shipping confirmation last night) I went with the GLV3 since i don't have any 5v mods yet. but everyone seems to love they're super mini mod. its really small and practically indestructible! i've been using ego's and LR306's for a while now. kinda ready for a juicer... Direct Dripping is getting kinda old.

You can use an ego just like you've been using your KR808 as a two piece unit- cartomizer & battery. Difference is it's fatter- more like a sharpie. Battery will last approx 7 hours.

With an ego battery you can use- (two piece)
cartomizers - standard, low resistance, dual coil, mega dual coil, echo-e cartomizers (big variety)
Clearomizers

(three piece)
Tanks & tank atomizer + battery
atomizer & drip tip + battery
cartridge & atomizer + battery
