Hello All,
I’m new to this vaping but happy to say Im going on 3 weeks of no smoking. I absolutely could not of done it with out vaping. I started with a blu from the drug store .It was ok not much vaper but I liked the drag. I moved up to a Volt starter kit .It has good vapor but I don’t like the drag and the sound of sucking in air. I need more drag. If that makes sense. Oh and the battery life is short. It does keep me off the cigarettes so I know I should be happy and I am but…I would like something with good vapor and a good drag….Is that possible? This is all at bet over whelming. Would love any advice.

Thanks,
Dottymay

P.s But after reading all this I’m really confused

If you want a better performance but want to keep it simple, almost everyone will say to get a riva and a cartomiser.

It's a bigger battery than the volt but not by much:

A 650mah egoT which is really similar to the riva next to a volt ecig. Not much bigger, just wider.

For mah, the more mah you have the longer it runs between charges. You can guess around 120mah per hour so a 650mah battery you can expect to last about 4 - 5 hours.

You pretty much have to step away from the ecigs that look like cigs if you want performance but it is 100% worth it.

I'll have to leave it up to the Americans to tell you where to get one in the USA, but I'd say get a riva and some low resistance 510 cartomisers to start with, then you can play around with whatever you want with it.

Hmm. As another poster asked, what kind of form factor are you looking for? I just started vaping myself, and my first kit was a Joyetech 510..pretty standard and closest to the 'cigarette' form most new vapers look for. I've quickly gotten new equipment though, I blame ECF! :D It seems as if you aren't fond of an 'airy' draw and I would second the notion to get an Ego battery.

The "airyness" is mostly determined by the device you use on your e-cig. The cartomizer, clearomizer or atomizer will make the difference there. The vapor is a function of the voltage and the juice. Small battery e-cigs, and most eGos, run at 3.3-3.4 volts. Other larger battery e-cigs run at 3.7 to 4.2 volts, depending on how fresh the battery is off the charger. That extra voltage makes ALL the difference.

You need to take the standard "step-up" into a larger battery PV. Any of the eGo type e-cigs would be an improvement. The "airyness" would differ, depending on what cartomizer or other device you used on it.

My suggestion is not to get wrangled into one of the specialized "systems" of eGo. You can get an eGo-T or eGo-C or eGo-W or whatever. But what you'll be doing is paying for the extra stuff, like special tanks or atomizers, that you may or may not like. You can use regular atomizers and tanks on all those eGos, but why pay for the specialized attachments? Get a PV and try different devices on it to find the one that has a draw you like.

For a first "upgrade", I would suggest getting a kGo. It's like an eGo, but with a bigger capacity battery and a higher voltage, (3.7 vs 3.4). Get a pack of cartomizers, an atomizer or whatever other juice delivery system you want to try. The kGo will take any device that fits on an eGo or anything designed for a standard 510 thread pattern. You can get a complete kit for about $45 from hoosierecigsupply or sweet-vapes or any number of other online vendors.

If you look around here, you'll find many, many people who have been happy with their kGos, and darn few complaints. OTOH, you'll see all kinds of people asking what the heck they're doing wrong to get that plasticky taste on the eGo-T or why their eGo-C is giving them dry hits. So, keep it simple. Get a kGo, or even the smaller battery Riva, but I'm not sure they even stlll sell Rivas in the U.S.. Don't bother with the proprietary systems that the eGo tries to sell you on. It's generally not worth the bother and extra expense.

I agree 100% with sailorman and it's VERY rare that I read about Kgo complaints unless it's about the size BUT remember "the more it looks like a cig the less it performs IMO".

You're welcome Kgo is good and so is the E-Power
If money is an issue you may want to look at the E-Power. Kgo/ Riva extra batts cost $15+ while E-Power batts are $5 cuz they are separate from the PV unit. All these PVs are true 3.7 volts and batts are approx 1050 mah. 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping. Dripping is where you drip a few drops on to a heated element and vape. If you want after you buy your PV you can always add a tank or clearomizer. Have to go for dinner soon. The above starter kits are about $40.

Hi,
performance more important to me.
Thanks for responding :vapor:

Welcome if I was to throw my 2cents in 510 threading first off this gives you a bunch of options of cartos clears and addys now for battery's there is a lot of choices ego and kgo are sealed battery's so when they die the you have to replace the whole thing so I would go with a mod with replaceable battery their a little bigger not by much depending on the mod one that can last you at least 8 hours on a charge like a 18350 minimum they are shorter than a 18650 as far as which one that is something you will have to decide as its what looks best to you

Dotty, I just ordered the 1.7 ohm cartos Vapor gave a link to above. They're supposed to work really well with KGo's, E-powers, etc. BTW, I also ordered the E-power system from the same place. I prefer the idea of it to the KGo or EGo for one simple reason: each of the parts is replaceable. What I mean by that: if your KGo switch goes bad, you have to replace the entire battery (at almost $25). If your E-power switch goes bad, you can replace the switch (at under $10). Similarly, if the battery on the E-power dies, a replacement battery costs around $5.
