New and WAAAAY confused.

Ok. So I am very interested in vaping instead of smoking. I've smoked a pack a day for 7 years now and I am really sick of feeling winded when I shouldn't and hacking up lung butter every morning. So I ordered a BluCigs starter kit, and read up on them for a while then quickly cancelled my order as EVERYONE advised that Blu was not the way to go. The problem is now I'm more lost than ever on this subject. The Revolver Elite looked very promising until I read that if you plan on vaping in an outdoor or windy/noisy environment it doesn't work so well due to the automatic battery. I would really like to find a solution that will work for me for around $60 and it would be VERY nice to find a product in the Blu/Revolver format (charging case and all that other fun stuff) so what would you guys recommend? I really don't care if it has a manual or automatic battery I just wan't something reliable and consistent with a pretty good amount of battery longevity and some really nice vapor production and I would really like to not be relegated to vaping solely inside or in quite environments as I do enjoy smoking outside occasionally. What do you guys think, is the Revolver Elite terrible in noisy conditions or a car with the windows down? Is there something better for the same price? Whats the battery life on the RE, would I be able to enjoy it for a decent amount of time without fiddling with the batts to often? I'm just so lost at the moment I have no idea what to do, what I do know is that I would like to make the transition to vaping as soon as possible since time is money and health at this point. The more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance (in general) when it comes to battery life, throat hit and consistency. Definitely stay clear of all auto batteries due to liquid getting in the compartment, plus the battery "cut-off" and inconsistency. As a start, I would suggest a manual 510 or an eGo. If you then find you like vaping, I would suggest adding a good 5 volt mod. Here is a site that summerizes many mods:

If you want a good e-cig that will satisfy your pack a day habbit, then you will want something in the 510 family of e-cigs. These e-cigs will produce a lot of vapor and have a very good track record. The standard 510 is good, but has a short battery life and you will have to carry several batteries with you to make it through the day. I would recommend either a Hello Good Buy, H 16, EGO or Riva. They are only slightly bigger than the standard 510, but have a much longer battery life. The batteries on these units should last you the whole day before you need to recharge. they can be found just about everywhere now, but I have ordered from Welcome to NHaler! and Electronic Cigarette | Smokeless Tobacco | Electronic Cigarettes
The most important thing is that parts are available just about everywhere unlike your Blu that you almost got. By the way, all of these e-cigs can be had for under 60 bucks depending on where you get them from.

From what I've gathered at vapezone.com some auto batteries are triggered by a microphone inside the battery.

And over at blucigforum.com almost all the advice there is that Blu is not the best option.

But then again I have ZERO of my own knowledge on this subject so basically take it with a grain of salt.

Serveral of the small auto models are set up so the battery activates by noise which makes them heat up when you don't want them to.

On the Blu, I have read on this forum as well as several others about 500+ posts from all different posters who all consistently point out that it is the weakest and most inconsistent PV on the market. Looks pretty, performs quite poorly.

My advice, not that you asked , is to get this Hello 016 Carto Kit and order some Ms. T's and/or Tasty Vapor eliquid and be done with it. You can't ask for better battery life than the Hello and cartomizers are hassle free (once you master loading them) vaping for hours. I use an eGo with cartomizers now (and love it...the Hello just offers much more battery life), but started with a 3 piece device (Smoke 51, then moved to Joye 510) and quickly realized that atomizers and cartridges were a pain in the hiney...if I didn't have the eGo already, I'd own the set up I just advised you to get. Hope it all works for you!! Vaping is awesome!

Take it from some one who has been vaping for over a year... You want to stick with the JOYE family of e-cigs. Like the 510, Or the eGo. You can get a 510 for under $40 and an eGo for around $60. If you want to have the best experience with e-cigs, I would buy an eGo. It uses 510 carts and atties, but you get monster battery life, huge amounts of vapor... Happiness all around.

Yes, auto battery's can be a problem.
I started with a 510 manual kit and a 910 auto. The auto battery's on the 901, after about a week started to go off while in my car listening to loud music. Or almost any other time. A real hassle.

As others have suggested here, get an eGo manual, you will be glad you did.

I think a good starter kit is the manual 510 with pcc. Of course I am biased. And have no real experience yet. cignot has them for a good price - not sure if it is the best. Joye 510 with PCC Don't forget fluid - an e-cig is useless without fluid.
edit: if you go with 510 they come packed in transport fluid - you want to blow that out, then put in your fluid.

Being new, having only used 510s (I have an Tornado and my boyfriend has the Titan) I love my Tornado and don't see myself switching up anytime soon. I think this is also the eGo elsewhere? I'm not sure. The battery life when compared to a regular 510 is amazing. I haven't charged this battery in two days and it's still going. Only thing I don't like about it is it's a bit larger than a traditional cigarette and that took a little getting used to.
