Just got a new aqua clone in the mail the other day. Wanted to get some suggestions on what you guys are using as a coil setup that works well. So far I did a dual coil with 28 gauge that came out to 1 ohm, but not liking it very much. My kayfun clone is still better with a single coil. I am using a nemesis and I have an itaste VTR. Thanks in advance.

The VTR has a 5 amp/15 watt limit, so from a potential resistance standpoint, the lowest you can go is 0.6Ω. However... the VTR also has a "short monitor" that is a bit of a variable. Some report that their VTR will not fire below 1.0Ω, while others have had theirs fire successfully down to 0.7Ω. Seems each one is a bit of an experiment on the part of the owner... mine being the most common, not firing below 0.8Ω.

Although the Foontoon Aqua is not my favorite atomizer, I do run one with cotton, using a 28 gauge, 8/7 wrap on a 1.5mm mandrel, compressed coil set - that results in 0.4Ω. Although a bit of a "warm vape", the flavor is quite good... with juices that perform well at that temperature.

I have an Aqua clone from fasttech in the mail. Hoping I get it soon. If you don't mind me asking, what clone and where did you get it?

I can't wait to try some different builds and see what works. Depending on the build, I'll be using mine mostly on a Magneto.

My 10th build i guess. I used too little cotton in the past and i got gurgly vape every time after filling it up.

This is how it should look. 29awg kanthal, 6 wraps on 2.4mm rod , 0.7 ohm with 18500 efest battery in nemesis. Instant delicious vapor :)

Leads of the coils are in the middle of the base. All 4 wraped once around the posts for easier building. :vapor:

rawr has a nice build here. You won't be disappointed with this. I also use a 30awg 7/8 wraps on 4-40 machine screw but leaving the coils open a little. Lean a little toward the heavier side with the cotton. You can always adjust the juice control to get just the right flow. I use 100% vg liquids with this device with no problem. This is my favorite atomizer to date. Just wish it had more juice capacity. Oh yeah refilling can be a challenge at first but you'll get the hang of it.

I have two Aqua clones, and I've tried several different builds on them. At first I was wrapping around a bit that was too big, and inevitably one of the two coils would touch the bell part of the chimney and short out. The best luck I've had was using 30ga round Kanthal and 1.5mm Ekowool with silica core. I usually make it around 1.4-1.8, and it seems to work fine that way. I have friends that wrap it lower, from .8 on down, but I haven't had any luck that low. I usually get dry hits, from it not wicking fast enough, even with cotton. Maybe it's just me tho.

I'm going to have to give my Aqua another try with lower ohms. It kept leaking and gurgling for me at 1.2 ohms. I usually build my RTA's for use on both my mechs and my regulated devices. Perhaps I should designate the Aqua as a mech only topper like my drippers. It leaked during travel for me as well, so I'm thinking it should stay home with my drippers for home use too. Unless, someone can reveal how to stop it from leaking for travel? Please?

My aqua leaks only when overfilled!Airflow holes are fully open all the time and i take origin 18490+aqua in hybrid every where i go in my left pocket. No problems whatsoever. Problem is you build for sure!

Aqua really is the beast! My favourite rta. Only con for me is juice capacity. 2.2-3mls with dualcoils on 0.6ohm just isnt enough for whole day...

In few weeks i am gonna get sanek cellucotton. Can wait to try it out :)

For me the leaks seem to come with too little (thin) wick material. Those suckers really can hold a lot more Cotton than I thought! Also, I've been screwing in the juice control all the way and backing it out a turn for each turn that I close the top cap. It seems, at least in theory, that this would plunge the juice away from the wick. I've had zero leaks since I've been adhering to these methods!

Vertical mounted, 0.18 ohm build, ramie fiber wick, yeah vapes up a storm. Well did till a clone switch locked on for 3 minutes and she did a total melt down melting my stingray custom drip tip and melting the insulators inside, filling all the vent holes, it saddens me to say Aqua has passed on to vape heaven.

But yeah, awesome vape. :D:lol:
