chornbro; I am up late trying to keep those ECF people happy getting their orders. I am like the Postman used to be---neither rain, nor sleet, will keep me from my appointed rounds.......LOL Are you a nite owl too?

Definitely a night owl... although I should be in bed... have to be up in 6 hours for work!

Stayed up too late over the long weekend and my schedule is all jacked up =\

Allen,

Do you have one of those "% of battery life remaining" charts based on it's voltage for the 500 mah 3.2v LiFePO4s ICR123s (blue color) ??

Looks something like

3.65v.... 100%
xxxxv .... 80%
xxxxv .... 60%

etc. ??

I'd love to have that as a reference!

I don't have any accurate data for the LiFePO4 R123 because like the IMR, they maintain a good voltage under load
and it is not generally accurate to estimate the capacity according to the voltage reading.
Use only as a "loose" guide
3.65V Right off the charger ---- settles to around 3.4V ( 100% )
3.2V ----------- ( 80% )
3.0V------------( 60% )
2.8V ------------( 40% )
2.5V ------------( 0%)
I hope this helps you, my friend.

Nice work... helps very much! See? This is why you're my battery guy ; )

Good Day to you Wonderlite and to all the folks who follow this thread.

Speaking of the LiFePO4 R123, as we are apparently on the subject, I too have a question for you.
I don't use mine (4 x LiFePO4 R123) very often so naturally they set in the battery case for extended periods of time. After reading the previous post concerning the capacity of said battery I checked mine, as I often do, and they seem to remain around 3.34-3.35 range. So, my question is, is this voltage an ideal voltage for storing this type of battery and if not what would be the ideal voltage? On further thought, would it be better to purposely discharge these batteries and recharge them when storing for extended periods? No need to rush with a reply my friend. I know you are a busy man.

Thanks to the best battery man on ECF!

These batteries charge to 3.65... but settle around 3.4... as a rule of thumb, its best to store batteries with a full charge : )
