I only just started using it a few days ago, but given how well the material is holding up (it's stiff instead of squishy like polyfill), I imagine that maybe once a week I'll pull 'em out, unroll 'em, wash 'em under hot water, roll 'em back up, and reuse 'em for months on end, or at least until the taste starts to change. My early impression is that they'll last practically forever. And you're right about the PG being helpful on the germ front. Eventually I may well switch to VG-only liquids, at which point I'll probably replace the PET more often.

Oh, I forgot to mention-- it may be a good idea to wash the PET from the tea bags before you stuff the carts with them. The tea was so granular and easy to brush away that I didn't bother, but I think all my liquids taste slightly tea-ish now. :) May well be my imagination, though I'm sure that they do taste different than they did with the polyfill. Most people report that it lets the taste come through better, though I suspect it might just be that since it seems to produce lots more vapor, you just get more of the liquid mist spread across your taste buds. All I can say for sure is that Johnson Creek Summer Peach is really good now. :D

Hmm, will have to give the peach flavor a go next time I order. I read a report when I was studying up on PG that it is effective in the treatment of preventing respiratory illness in lab studies with mice. I wonder with swine flu on the rise, if we may actually be doing ourselves good by vaping.

Will be sure and wash the PET before use. Excited to try this out...now I just gotta get to Wal Mart and see if they have the PTB.

I was thinking of prepping some cartridges to get ready for my order arriving. Do you normally fill half way then insert the PET, or do you insert then fill? Was thinking the insert/fill may be less messy? Thanks for all the help hxj. I tend to get obsessive about this kind of thing.

A lot of times with the Blu you think it is out of juice but really, it just needs a rest between drags. This is not a "chain vaping" device. It's good for a couple of slow draws and then needs to rest for a few minutes. When refilling the carts, they are very small so you will only get 2-4 drops in max.

This is still a great device for sneaking in a quick hit and I do like my Blu. It feels more like an analog and for those moments of when you're missing just having an analog in your hand, it works. I think it is a good supplement along with the 510. The 510 is more consistent and will get you through those times outside of work and you can chain vape all you want. I think if you get both devices, you'll be good to go.

You and me both! :D

With polyfill, I found it easiest to fill the carts halfway and then add the polyfill, and then top off with a couple more drops. The PET is harder to stuff in, though, so I've just been prepping dry carts and then filling them with liquid afterward, and it's working pretty well. There's better airflow throughout with the PET, so air bubbles are less of a problem.

We must have different-sized droppers! I usually get about 10 drops in the blu carts with the Johnson Creek dropper bottles, I think. I wish I had an empty one so I could try right now.

As for the rest period, you're right, but this is largely alleviated with the Pyramid tea bag mod. The rest period is needed because it's taking the liquid time to wick to the atomizer coil. The PET from the tea bag wicks much faster, so the rest period is much shorter. (But even so, the blu will never be a good fit for a heavy smoker.)

I've had a 510 on order for weeks, and when it finally arrives (held up because of another part of the order being out of stock-- I'm not in a huge rush, since I have the blu and it's just fine for me) I'll be able to compare. So far from poking around here it seems to me that the 510 is a pretty high-maintenance device, which concerns me. But anyway, since the PCC doesn't carry a full 510, I'm almost positive I'll stick with the blu while out and about, and use the 510 at home.
